So I was using this SOG T6 bit in my Leatherman bit extender to move a pocket clip on a Spyderco I just got and this happened.... I didn't push super hard on it but the bit sunk down into the bit well beyond the the metal retention ring. Now I can't get the bit out. Tried pulling it with my Charge pliers but no luck. Any ideas?

Nevermind! Tried again and had to jiggle it quite a bit but it finally came out.

Disaster averted! :salute:

Same has happened to me. Makes me very leary to use it.

Good to know I'm not the only one. May need to find something to stuff down in there. Maybe a small magnet?

If you do that, the double ended LM bits won’t fit. Just saying...

Yes that sucs. Not really usable with normal but double sided bits. And for lm bits slimmer adapter would do. So not really good at all. I prefer vic bit set which is quite slim though used seperatelly from tool.

I have had this happen before as well :ahhh and yes it is a bit of a trick to get them out sometimes  I usually try and use the longer bits but the shorter ones are more convenient and when using an odd rarely used size it is hard to find longer bits :salute: Glad you got it out :like:

I only use short bits so I cut the eraser off a new pencil and inserted it in the extender head. The eraser is about 5mm in length by 6.75mm diameter so it will fit nice and tight and will cover the empty space making any short bit sit flat and lock in place without going any further down. Well, at least this trick works for me :tu:

Same here, well sort of, I stuck a little magnet in mine... before I gave it away.
