Title: Leatherman Fuse Locking Mechanism
Post by: Old Boy on August 29, 2020, 05:47:06 PM
So of course I broke that plate while taking it apart. Pretty sure not covered by warranty. Does anyone have a spare part they want to sell? US only.

Appreciate it. Ready to kick myself right now.

I've got a really beat up Fuse that's doing me no good. But, the locking mechanism works just fine.  Since I'm not too sure about my PayPal, I'd trade it for an inexpensive user SAK.

That way, you've got some extra mod parts as well, since hardware, scissors, and the other drivers are fine. I will tell you this--cutters are shot, main blade had to be reprofiled, and the smallest screwdriver was reprofiled as well. Chip in the Zytel as well.

I have a Rambler where the scales are loose. Blade is scratched up.

Do you have the older version or the new version Fuse? The locking mechanism are different shapes.

Date codes are 0309 and 0409; which puts it right at the time the changes took place. And, poking around here, I learned I have the newer version.

Shoot, that’s not going to work. I have the older version, which is known to have breakage.

On the bright side looks like you got a great project in your hands.

My plans otherwise were to buy up an extra Rebar and take the scissors out of it and put in the Rebar, thus saving me having to buy another post-2004 Wave. I think scissors are the same.
