Saw this in a video and thought I'd share. Messing with those split rings can be a pain, especially on those smaller ones that come with the 58mm sak's. What you do is insert the toothpick into the split ring. Once it's in there, it makes it super easy to put on any accessories and then on the knife. Once every thing is on, just remove the toothpick and spin the split ring like you normally would and viola! Pics below.

I didn't come up with it, just saw a video thought I'd share, but thank you!

I’ve long used the standard Vic can opener on stubborn split rings, but this toothpick method also seems to work well.
