Can you guys recommend a couple pocket sized small(er) prybars. There are so many out there from cheap to expensive and simple to deluxe. I do like "cool" factor. But don't need expensive ;)
I just need an easily pocketable (or bagged) prybar that will take over duties from any knife or multitools unintended uses and flat drivers.

I love the gerber artifact, I think they discontinued them. But you can still get them on ebay for 10 bucks.

Yeah. Pretty much what I was looking for. Allot more utilitarian than some others I've seen. And looks like it could definitely get the job done, better than a knife tip :facepalm:

I've seen some others on people's edc instagram pocket dumps. I just have no idea where they get them and the cost.

I have both the real widgey bar from county comm and a Chinese ebay knock off and there is a slight a difrence in quality.
The widgey feels like a real tool, seems stiffer when prying but that could just be that it is longer and bead blasted. The knock off is shiny and feels like a standard SS OPT knock off.
That said I carry both. The widgey rides in my bag wirh a small tool kit and is rarley used except when really needed. The knock off is on my key ring and I have sharpend one corner slightly. It sees daily use as a box opener saving my knives from such a menial task.
I wont say one is truly better than the other because they both serve thier functions, neither has failed me and there was a fairly large price difference. In the end what I will say is it is a feel and asthetic choice. Do you want a tool that feels like a tool or just a chunk of steel that works is the ultimate choice.
If that rambling made any sense to anyone ...which I doubt.
If you are after something larger Lowes has a 6in bar that is pretty awesome too. See pic4 Sorry no part no.
I know you said the possibility of bag carry. So this and the Stanley Super Bar 2 came to mind(same size). Though for stanley I prefer the older discontinued model with its broader straight blade and curled puller instead of an actual folded shelf blade. The 2 is standard Wally's stock.

I forgot to note I also keep a LM Croc in my ST300 shieth which is why the widgey doesnt get used as much.
My edc bag and Suplimental Tool Kit (STK) are usualy near by but not on me. So the knock off on my keys and the Croc are what I actualy use most.
As for the Kobalt; I have 4 of and they are always on hand/in pocket when doing remodeling projects, but rarley a carry item otherwize. Though I did pocket the Stanley daily as a janitor 17 years ago, which is probably where I get my fondness for 5-6in bars.

I really like the look of the Vox Access Tool, but I've got a Shard that seems to be just fine for opening paint cans and beer bottles.

The Gerber Shard and Burktek Pocket Wrench 2 (Lee Valley has them) has served me well. I haven't tried it but if you want a cool vintage stuff you could pick up some knife picks from ebay, no nail puller though.

I carry this sometime, doesn't get much use.
Normally just use the flathead driver on my keychain to pry with.

Lots of good recommendations here. I'd like to add the Leatherman Brewzer. Extremely lightweight, but still perfectly usable for a lot of tasks. It's probably the pocket prybar-ish thing I got which has the most chance of being carried. (Most of the time I simply use the flat driver on a SAK.)

for something lower cost, but still branded, look at the Sanrenmu offerings too Most come with some sort of prybar too.

I've been rocking the the Gerber Shard. Works well and survived TSA so far. Walmart has them on sale here for as combo with a ripstop I think. Silver instead of black so I've been eying it.

I love having a small pry tool at the ready. I had always paired my smaller tools like my 58mm SAKs and LM squirt with my Shard until I sadly lost it.

Later I got 2 SS Chinese Pry tools. I used them for prying and scraping just like my other pry tools. I have not used either for turning screws or nail pulling but in what I use them for they work well. I love the high polish and they attach easily to my keychain. I keep one on my keychain now full time since loosing my Shard.

IMO a small pry tool beats using the flat head of any MT other than Swisstool and Spirit. I have seen way to many snapped knife tips at the flea market. We have heard of way to many flat drivers also snapping.

I think the strandsrd pry bars are just what I'm looking for, something that is small and carryable and willing to get abused.

Yup a nice pry bar easily carried will be........ well carried. No need to ever use a blade tip and many can be used for other jobs you wouldn't want to use a knife tip for. I always have my PW2 in my LM sheath. I find its a great compliment to my MT and great on its own as well.

Kinda cool, wonder why they did not make the keyring hole 1/4 inch to use for bit driver? Perplexing.

I am very much leaning to a pry tool that is multi function. I mean to say it can do much more than pry and turn a screw. They Pocket Wrench 2, Leatherman #5, and Croc are all pry tools I've used. Each can turn bolts and hold nuts when turning screws. I am becoming quite fond of my PW2 the more I carry it. Its now on my both work days and off days.

One idea is a adjustable wrench since that's a functionality that's hard to replace with a multitool. Older wrenches sometimes have pry bars on them but usually fairly thick ones. Might be useful for opening paint tins but not lifting nail heads or anything. I added one to a cheap 4" wrench but I'm not super happy with the shape. I know I got the inspiration from someone else on here who seemed to have made a better shape but I can't remember who.

Oh I also recommend this one, it won't take much torque compared to others but the drivers are handy and it's very easy to carry around, in the keychain, belt loop, bag...
