Title: Baseball in October
Post by: J-sews on October 07, 2006, 01:53:51 PM: Anybody here like Major League Baseball? I'm somewhat of a fair weather fan myself. Being from Michigan, it's been almost 20 years since the Detroit Tigers were in the playoffs. Usually they are out of the pennant race by July. Or sooner.

But last night they beat the dreaded Yankees! WoooHoooo!! Go Tigers!

I lived in Toronto in the early 90's when the Jays won the pennant two years running. The whole city really came alive!

Of course we heard lots of stories about Americans being upset that we "beat you at your own game" but really, I don;t think that mattered very much. It just meant that our Cubans were better than your Hondurans!

Glad that it's evened up again... I can't really call myself a baseball nut, but I have been watching the series and am looking forward to Tuesday nights game...Go Tigers :)
