Title: Roxon?
Post by: marlowe221 on March 21, 2024, 11:48:23 PM
Does anyone have any experience with Roxon tools?

I've seen some positive YouTube reviews, but I don't see a lot of commentary on real world experience over time with Roxon multitools.

I mean, the prices are low but... I'd still rather not waste my $30 - $50 if they are of poor quality.

I don't know much about them but a mate has recommended them to me.

Only I have so far are the M4 and the Flex. Both models are well put together and quality is good.

You can find several reviews (mostly by ReamerPunch IIRC) in the reviews section. The conclusion is generally extremely positive.

Roxon Flash (https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,85769.msg2170183.html#msg2170183)

Roxon MBT3 S601 (https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,80833.0.html)
Roxon Storm S801 (https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,77845.0.html)
Roxon Storm S801S 30 Day Challenge (https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,84807.0.html)
Roxon Phantom S802 (https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,85113.0.html)

I've reviewed a few older Roxon tools. I also used the Storm for a month. The quality was ok, much better than the cheap stuff amazon and other sites sell that come under a dozen different brands. The Storm and and Phantom are great tools, but they are a bit bulky. The Flash is wonderful, great design and price. I have not reviewed any of the newer models, but I might look into them. I am very interested in the new modular tool they are releasing soon. It looks really nice.

Thanks for the links!

I'm actually kind of interested in the Mini Storm as a Powerpint alternative focused on electronics and other similar small-size jobs.

Hi Marlowe,
You know that I am a SAK fanatic, but here's what I would do.  Make a little tool roll and put in a pair of slip joint pliers, a mag tip screwdriver with some bits in the handle and leave it in my briefcase.  You already carry a SAK.  I know you carry a little duct tape already.  Should be enough to get you through the day.  Probably have everything already at home.  The office girls will be just as impressed when you fix the coffee maker or a loose hinge.  Best wishes.  G

I got a Roxon something (don't remember the name). Quality and finish is good, and certainly better than the cheap options. Design is fine too, although it feels a bit on the heavy / sturdy side. I think I got what I paid for.

Yeah... at this point I'm taking a 6" Channellock, needlenose Vice Grips, Klein multi-bit screwdriver, and a multi-plex Allen wrench set with me every day I go to the office... I was thinking of trying to condense/consolidate just a little bit.

And, you know, a new toy...

I agree.  A new toy is important.  Best wishes.  G
