So I had to try...
My Naked Compact is 100% brass and stainless steel, so why not try a dishwasher cycle?
Opened the tools and put it with the cutlery on a full wash at 65deg C.
It stripped off all the patina that had been building up over the last few weeks. And obviously all the oil. But that’s easy to touch back on the pivots. Although snap is still perfect even without any.
So It passed the dishwasher test!

My alox Minichamp survived the laundry several times :D

Dishwasher soaps are pretty harsh and I would not recommend for any of my knives, all metal or not.
Laundry detergent is much milder and my Celidor SAKs have survive more than one tumble in automatic tub without a scratch.

It was quite aggressive on the brass surface. I agree, not something I’d do frequently or recommend.

Nice to know it can survive!

Once I tried it a Victorinox DAK, but the dishwasher is BAD news for the aluminium slabs! Somehow the smooth surface of the slabs was dull and roughened.

The only cleaning product my sak's ever get close to is a nice warm water and soap bath in the sink.
I wouldn't put them within a mile of a dishwasher.... :ahhh
Even if it was just for the fact that i don't even own a dishwasher...
