Just watched part one again to compile the list of tools that were seen on camera since for the life of me I could not find a complete list anywhere on the net. I think that many of these were flown in later rather than hiked in.
Also it could be that I've made a mistake with the keyhole saw and falsely identified the felling axe as a splitting maul in one of the shots
- Double bit axe
- Augers
- Chisel (2)
- Wood gauge
- Bow saw
- Files
- Folding knife
- Drawknife
- Pencil
- Adze
- Combination square
- Vise grip pliers
- Hammer
- Pry bar
- Crosscut saw (small and large)
- Nails
- Carpenter’s hatchet
- Rip saw
- Small plane
- Large plane
- Shovel
- Keyhole saw (?)
- Splitting maul
- Bricklaying trowel
- Felling axe
- Maul (salfmade out of wood)
- Snow shovel
- Paint brush

Interesting. :tu: I should also watch it again sometime.

Guy went in the middle of nowhere in Alaska and built himself quite a cozy cabin with only hand tools somewhere in the 1960s I think

Fascinating man and somebody I envy, wish I could do the same.....
He was 50-something when he went in and 80-something when he came out.
I often wonder how he dealt with the health problems that comes with age, full well realizing he was probably spared most of the life style deceases many of us inflict on ourselves.

considering he had some things flown in, it could be possible that people did visit him and that he had at least the basic checkups

He kept detailed diaries which spoke to his time alone. He also took movies and pictures.
