I borrowed this idea from another forum I belong to. Post a pic of what you see outside your immediate work area. For those of us who haven't traveled much, it can be an interesting thread.

Oh! Great idea, will do a post on Monday when I'm back at work.

Not from today but here's a recent one.

Snapped this one out my office window 16:20 local time today. Sorry about the quality, I think it's the second photo I've ever taken with this mobile. :)

Those are some cool looking pics. Thanks.

Good to see at least one person here has something nice to look at. :D

I would post a picture, but it would just be a road viewed through my windshield.
-
I bet you get to see some pretty nice country though.

Yeah, I like it, too, thanks, guys :D.. Sometimes I regret I don't live in the very downtown, but then I go outside on the balcony, look at that and smile :D In summer it's green-er, but with the roads and buildings it doesn't look as nice :D

My view today.

Here's my view today. It should have changed long before now but something got seriously messed up and its screwing the whole day up majorly.

Ahhh, -23 sounds good to me. I tell ya, it feels a hell of a lot colder than that at the Airport today driving outside on a forklift!!
Just out from my desk, this is the view:

I'm not back to work until next Monday, but I'm sure a lot of you would like to see a pic of the coffee cart girl outside my work. Especially seeing she's dressed for 30something degrees C :P
-
At this point I'd be happy just seeing the +30C weather!

No worries, I love the cold! The only part that bugs me is my bald head. But I have a healthy supply of stocking caps for that.
I drive a frozen foods truck, and my route is in remote areas on the western side of the state where it's usually around 0 to 10 degrees this time of year, and I am constantly in and out of a freezer(the truck) that is -25 to -30 degrees F. Makes even -9 feel warm.
What kind of hours do you work Grant?
-
I work all hours. Shipping is 24 hour a day business.
Here's what I'm looking at right now.

That looks cool. I'm sure you don't agree, being around it all the time must make it boring!
I'm preparing to start my 3rd day down here, I should be done and home by about 11pm. So that's another 12.5 hours of work left, 3 days without seeing the fam. Next week it's 5 in a row away from home.
-
Nobody around here seems to work next to a nudist beach or a model agency or Cameron Diaz's house then?
-
Sorry, no supermodels here... although my view has changed slightly.

I hate driving in ports. Everybody seems to have their own idea of traffic regulations and most of the vehicles are way bigger than mine there.. :D
-
There are no regs here. I give the boys in heavy equipment the right of way. My Jeep is tough but not that tough. Fortunately around here it's considered quick and agile, while in regular traffic it's seen as a lumbering beast.
I drive in ports almost every day and you get used to it.

I do like the views, Def ;) Reminds me of when I still studied to become an officer on one of those... (okay, now I sound very old, it was actually just last year..)
-
I only go on ships when they are securely tied to the dock. While it might be interesting to go somewhere with these ships once or twice, I imagine it would get old fast.
I spent a night on one once. It was a bulk carrier and they gave me a guest cabin with two bunk beds (I was the only one using it) and its own private head. It wasn't bad at all, but again it was tied to something solid!

Ok it nearly 11pm and on a 12 night shift so dark and using my phone .This us the facing building too where i work,a 53 bed home for elderly with dementia :tu:

No pics available, but there's only buildings around. Now, one of that buildings happens to be a casino, and once in a while there's some babes sighting. Not that often, though.

I work in some really pretty mountains all the time. I would be able to enjoy them if I didn't hate everything about my job.

No really, thinking about it, you just don't see that any more, old white dog poo, why's that?

we don't feed dogs many bones any more, so much less calcium in the poo.

These are some pictures from my route. It is kind of hard to see but there are Elk in the pictures. I see Elk, Deer, or Turkeys on a daily basis, even had the privilege of seeing a Bobcat one morning.
And yes I was stopped when I took the pictures. :P

I have elk, deer, and turkeys on my route too. No bobcats, but I've seen Mountain lion tracks and I see huge bighorn sheep all the time. They stand in the middle of the road and don't move. At all. I've gotten out of my truck and waved and yelled but they just kind of look at me. You almost have to bump them with your bumper to move them.

Haven't had snow in almost three years!
-
You know you're a Canadian when you love having snow on the ground 5 months of the year.
-
I would take any of those views, even the one with the dog poo. When I enter my workplace, I lose all sense of direction, time and what it's like outside for a solid 10 hours :( My workplace has no windows.
-

I hate winter.... but then my mother was from Glasgow, so maybe I'm not 100% Canadian!

Ahh, that's explains a few things.... my dad is Glaswegian ;)

Always changing scenery seeing how I troll the highway looking for helpless people/victims.;)
-
N_N_R, love your view, reminds me of here.
If I looked outside, I'd be sad. Because I'd be looking at a beautiful mountain about 20 miles away, that right now has snow so pure it glitters above the tree line. And a lovely forest of mostly pine, spruce, ash and birch from the base. Sometimes that tip is in the clouds, which often look like they are carved from grey stone, and put my mind to Olympus or Asgard or Ama. And right now it reflects the sunset and turns into a beautiful fairyscape of pinks and oranges for a few minutes every day, and is a gleaming beacon under the full moon and against a black sky filled with stars. And that between me and it are farms and forest and a couple of decent ponds and rivers and I really would much rather be out there, any day of the week.
Then I turn around and look out the other window at the parking lot we share with the old folks home and I see my little toy truck that the bank still owns. And has an alumni sticker on it for my ala mater.
And if I go outside, and walk around the building, I can see the satellite campus of my old college. The college that axed my degree as being too generic and replaced it with watered down material in two degrees that have higher completion levels and thus bring in more money while turning out kids who can't do what I can and they can't get jobs either without moving away. The college that raised tuition over 30% one year and 15% the next because it was buying that satellite campus.
So I don't go around the building. Or look out the window.

I like it :)
Those padlocks are on the gate at Mt Major - the only bump in a flat landscape for 80km. Every broadcast company in the state has a tower up there - and they all have their own padlock.

Some nice pics there. Are the snowy and hilly ones from the Victorian high country ?

Whole Hungary is buried under snow. Though it's only 15+ centimeters (~7 inches for you imperial style folks), the road maintenance service simply cannot keep up. I live about 20 kilometers from my workplace, and it took me two hours. On highway. And the same happens every damn time when some snow decides to fall...

St. Joseph, Michigan is located in my sales territory. I often drive by the shores of Lake Michigan so take in the sights. On a typical day the north pier looks like this

Lately we've had a lot of high winds and frigid temperatures which resulted in the smaller light house getting covered in ice.

And and all of the above!
I have a mixed problem right now. I'm in the office at the moment and there's only one small window I can see from my desk, and it's almost completely obscured by a stairwell just outside so I really can't see anything through it.
Of course, since all there is to see outside is a bleak parking lot covered in snow and ice I think not being able to see isn't such a bad thing.
