As there is no club for the XLT
I thought it would be nice to start one :tu:
I would love to see and hear more of about this SAK
Here is a pic of my XLT that’s on it’s way to me :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I can’t say anything about it for now
But once I have carried and used the XLT
I will be posting on how I get on with it :tu:

I will give it some thought

That will work

I have had the SwissChamp long enough
to know that I think it’s a very handy SAK :tu:
But I never even touched a XLT before
So it would be more interesting for me
To use the XLT for a Challenge  :)

Checking in with my XLT. I bought it thinking it was a Cybertool because that is what the eBay ad said. Turns out it was an XLT. :woohoo:

Hi,
there was a club which wasn't registered in the stickie.
Here come three tanks.
-
Nice collection ulzhan :like: :tu:
-
Thx wspeed. One user and two backups. Use it daily and am still very happy with it.
Nice find also FB! You got a Cyber Tool 50 with some added layers. Btw: It seems you got an old one with the thicker tang. Want also one of those...
Hope to see a lot of XLTs in the Swisschamp Challenge...
-
Good to hear that you are
very happy with the XLT ulzhan :tu:
I think that I am going to like and use the XLT a lot :tu:
-
It's about the endless possibilities. The bit driver, the pruning blade,
If you combine the XLT with an Spirit with plus package you'll become someone who is related with MacGyver and also Chuck Norris.
Nothing can stop you then. You are MacNorris. :D :D
-
 good one ulzhan :like: :tu:
-
Everyone who successfully wields an XLT will hereby granted the title of "Chuck MacNorris, the unstoppable toolator". Almost godlike. (The gods use exclusively XAVTs, that's something different.)

Great posts and photo’s :like: :tu:

I just can’t stop playing with it at the moment :D
So how many more new tool are there? Levels? :dunno:
-
I can count 10 Layers but the wood saw
and the fish scaler are in both in 1 Layer
Would that make it 11 layers
I am still looking at the leaflet
That shows the tools and names
So I know it’s got 50 tools :tu:
-
Congratulations wspeed!
Welcome to the spatula side of life!
-
There are a load of tools I never had before
Like the pruning knife and the electricians knife
The spatula is one that I can’t
think of anything I could use it for
I like the file it feels really good quality
The bit driver is nice
I wonder if There are any
other bits that you can get
Can’t think of anything else for now :tu:
-
Congratulations wspeed!
Welcome to the spatula side of life!
Thanks Ulzhan :hatsoff: :like:
I was only just thinking of what
I could use the spatula for  :tu:
-
There are at least three other bits which you can use.
You can stir your coffee with the spatula. It looks hilarious btw.
The Pruning blade is perfect for opening of plastic packages.
Have fun with your new Multitool!
I'm still amazed, even more than a year after I got my user XLT of it's capabilities.
-
Thanks again Ulzhan  :like:
That’s all I could think of
Using the spatula for stirring coffee
-
:dnft:
-
The spatula is for your Lego’s for cooking
Seriously - you know how the zipper sometimes get stuck at the very bottom into the folds of your pants...you can use the spatula to slide under it and pop in back up. I have used my MiniChamp one to get me out of that. Saves your thumb nail also.
I have heard about it for the stirring coffee.

I am quite surprised that for the size of the XLT
That it doesn’t feel to big when using the XLT
I am not sure about carrying the XLT in my pocket
I might have to get a pouch for it
But I will soon find out when I start
carrying if I need a pouch or not :tu:

It's not always trivial. A bit confusing. In the 58mm range we count the number of springs.

It is nice and snug. That is why I keep that little lanyard thing on the XLT. Makes extraction easier. :tu:

There are at least seven bits which can be used with the bit wrench.
-
I am looking forward to use the XLT
For the SwissChamp 30 day challenge
That’s starting on the 1st of January 2019
I have had the SwissChamp for 23 years
So I know what it’s like to use and carry
So I would like to find out about the XLT
Especially as it has extra tools on
it that I haven’t even used before
And what will it be like to carry for 30 days
I have always liked the SwissChamp
So I hope I will like the XLT for EDC :tu:
-
There are at least seven bits which can be used with the bit wrench.
Thanks Ulzhan :hatsoff:
I wonder if any other company
makes the the same size bits

How about the SurfTool? Doesn't that one have some special bits? I haven't checked.
-
They seem to be very long  :tu:

8 bits come with the XAVT (the additional ones are mostly Alan wrenches)
You could get spares at one time, not sure if you still can.

I still think this bit is different, specific to this model.

Hey guys, might as well ask this question here...
The XLT has a layer with a pruner blade and an electrician blade, right? Is the backspring used in that layer (with a small screwdriver, I think) to be found in any other SAK beside the XLT (and the XAVT)? I'm idly toying with the idea of doing a 91 mm mod with such a layer, but I'm not about to spend the money required for an XLT (let alone an XAVT, heavens forbid) only to then cheerfully dismantle it.
Thanks in advance
-
Sorry only just noticed your post
Yes it’s got the small screwdriver on the
back of the pruning and electrician blades :tu:

It works. And it's really an awkward screwdriver. :like:

I still want one . I often carrya Cybertool 41 , so the extra layers shouldn’tbe too much of a shock . If/ when I get one , I’ll probably pony up for the +Biancho G10 plus scales .

Ah ok.
Pruner, Cybertool and the Spatula are often used here.

I’m late to the party but finally decided to take the plunge as well. As many of you, I’m a long time SC carrier. I decided to try the C41 for the bit driver thinking I wouldn’t miss the deleted tools from the SC. Turns out I did and learned recently the XLT was basically both knives in one.
I thought it was going to be too big/too many layers but decided to give it a try. I’ve carried it for a few months straight and it’s my new favorite knife. As long as it hangs from my belt into a pocket, the weight is carried by the belt and I pretty much don’t feel it (I don’t care for sheaths). The reason it goes into a pocket is to keep it from swinging around.
I’ve made it my own with a FireFly hidden in the bit driver area, colored toothpick/tweezers (black), and PDW Ti Plus Scales (stupid expensive I know but I have a weakness for PDW farkles) :climber: .
Oh and I found that the spatula tool is useful in feeding a drawstring back through when you need a tool that won’t snag in the hole
