When hammering on the top, are you using another on the back? Mounted in the vice?

No, just put the knife on the flat section of the vise (It's like a built in anvil section) and start peening the top with the modified punch.  It does flatten the peen a little on the pins on the bottom, but still keeps most of the rounded peen.

Looks great my friend. What is your process for the pin heads? Are you deburring the holes in the scale and using a rounded punch to peen? It looks very clean whatever it is.

Pretty much right on.  Counter sink the holes in the scales a little and use a punch that's concave.  Modified the punch myself, gave it a concave grind.

Man this is inspiring! That's the dream set up. Carry both and not even notice the weight. Then blow minds when you bust out of pocket the tools to reach both sides of the nut/screw.  gotta bite the bullet and get the hardware ordered for mine.
