As you might have noticed, after a recent security update a lot of formatting and a huge number of pics on the wiki got broken, either they don't display correctly in size or position, or they don't display at all.
I've been correcting them as I see them or have time for it but as it's a huge job, I can't do it by myself.
We fixed parts of it by batch edits but as there have been a number of editors over the years and each of us used some different kind of code, we're afraid a batch edit on these might break things even further.
So I'm asking if there are any members willing to help out.
No huge coding know how needed. If you can use the commands copy and paste, you're good. :D
What needs to be changed/fixed is the main window, the first thing you read on each page once you open a wiki page for that specific model. We have a code already written and all you'd need to do is copy the text from the old page into this new Template and save the page.
I'll make a How to ... with pictures in the next week or so, so you have a manual type thing to follow. For now I only need to know who's willing to help and how big of a part in it they are willing to take.
If you don't have an account on the wiki yet, no problem, PM me and we'll sort that out.

I would like to volunteer. Sakwiki helped me a lot when I was starting and it enabled me to learn a lot about SAKs and eventually led to me starting a collection and also starting the SAKC group in FB.
I would love to help! :) yes I can do copy and paste :)

I can try and help where I can, but have a limited idea of coding. Hey, challenges have never been known to stop me before, so I'm in.

Ill pitch in when I can. Worst thing that happens is I get access and dont do anything right? (ok, i could inject a nice virus designed to start up a year from now... but I swear all it will do Is make you solve the square root of -1 before you can log in to your computer.... or install GlaDOS as the wiki navigator)
-
We backup daily. ;)
And we know people who know "people" and also know your address.

At this point anyone over in these parts of the internet who really wanted to could find me.
Besides I wouldnt harm anything over here anyhow. I like you guys too much

I never said it would be a hard problem to solve. Just hard enough to be annoying without the internet.
If you want I could ask some fun dynamics problems instead.

I'd be happy to help. I play a developer on TV so I can probably manage some copy and paste. Might only be able to put in a few hours a week, but if that will help.
-
I can help with this. I already have an account on wiki. If you have some instructions / manuals (how fixing of broken pages should be done), - please share this knowledge :)
P.S. I can start working with 111-mm models.
-
In on this as well, if you need me.
Working on the sakwiki is a thing of pride.
Not sure how much time I have, with the job and the baby, but I'm sure I could squeeze in something during the holidays.

Not at all, editors get ten times what we do, just thought you would want in for the glory not the money. :P

SAKwiki has been a valuable tool for me. I'd be honoured to lend a hand.
I'm not sure how much time I can give it but I'm willing to find out.
I'll need an account too.
:salute:
-
Make yourselves the regular accounts, take a look around a bit and familiarise yourselves with the wiki. Once you do, I'll upgrade you to editor status so you can do edits.
I'm heading off to work in about an hour so I don't have time to make the How to right now but will try to this evening.

Love to help
Tried to apply for an account once
Don't think anything ever came back to me
Will pm you on MTo

I'd like to help too, if I can. Have applied for a passcode so I can apply for an account. :tu:

The page looks whacked out today.....

I do have an account on wiki, though I don t remember when did I created it.

Wait 'til we've finished with it.....
encki might wish he'd never asked!

:hatsoff: to all those offering their services, and best wishes to our soon to be new editors, whoever you may be. I may have the nouse, but don't have the hardware so I can't offer assistance myself.
Besides, I wouldn't want to get mischeivous, and start renaming stuff :P >:D
Thanks for your efforts guys

It is a very valuable piece of information and I do hope you all get it straight. I would love to help, but I would only get in the way. Thanks for the hard work on this.

Sorry enki, I wish I could help but I really have less free time at the moment.
-
I second what 50ft said, :hatsoff: to all those who stepped up to get SAKWIKI up to snuff. It's such a valuable resource that deserve to be maintained at the highest level

No problem. Not too much time on this end either. A few years back I would have done everything by myself. :D Heck, I read all the pages on the wiki multiple times. Life just gets in the way of the fun stuff. :-\

All who applied and registered have been upgraded to EDITOR status. :hatsoff:

Hear that guys? Time for an editing party at the wikis navigation bar!

Here is the How to for the current problems ....
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,63583.0.html
Go nuts. :D
Try it out first and we'll do a raster of who gets what section to fill once you have a better understanding of what does what. ;)
Have fun.

Finished the single layer 93mm ones. Not too bad. Needed to convert a few photobucket references to uploads but no biggie. Remember to watch your DIV alignments on the pages with extra sample images.
I'd do more but it's 2:20AM and I have to be up in 4 hours for work, so yea . . . I really should have gone to bed earlier.
Oh, feel free to give me the rest of the 93mm ones to do. If I gotta do this kind of work, at least I can enjoy looking at some awesome alox. :D
-
Yup, I saw that. Good work. :hatsoff:
