Title: SAK questions...
Post by: Leatherman123 on March 23, 2008, 03:32:27 AM
I was wondering, what is the rarest SAK? Also, is the Lumberjack a rare model?

The Alox one or the cellidor ???

The alox ones are very rare as it was a limited production run, the cellidor ones are very common in europe :)

The rarest SAK would be the original hand made military issue prototype, although I suppose any other prototypes would be just as rare.  That would be the most sought after SAK though.

The Lumberjack isn't a rare model- it's just not imported/distributed in the US so it appears that way.  It is also known as the Plumber in some areas.  There are only a couple of hundred of the ALOX models produced by Victorinox for SwissBianco.

Wenger's new Heritage Series reissue knives are limited to 1,893 models to commemorate the military contract gained in 1893.

I can't be sure about the rarity of surviving older models, but the +B Red Yeoman (40 pcs) and +B Black Yeoman (60 pcs) have got to be among the lowest production (assembed by Victorinox) runs.
On that note, anyone wants to sell/trade a +B Red Yeoman?  :gimme:

The +B Yeoman is basically a re-creation of the old BSA Yeoman. You can find the pictures in the November, 2007, issue of +B Newsletter: http://www.inmentis.com/SwissBianco/SwissBianco_NL_2007_2.htm (http://www.inmentis.com/SwissBianco/SwissBianco_NL_2007_2.htm)
