Title: "Different" Leatherman Multi tools.
Post by: DaveK on July 07, 2008, 01:12:06 AM
Despite my peristent hint-dropping, bribery, begging and demanding, there are a few Leatherman tools that I've not been able to get my hands on so far. On the whole, they are unusual in some way, or are simply too expensive to buy new within my budget at the moment.

So if anybody has any of the following LM tools and would be interested in selling or trading - I'd love to give the following a good home:

ToolVariation I'm After
Charge SLVIn good condition.
PSTOriginal riveted version
PST IIWith "Leatherman Tool" (not PST II) on the handles
SideclipPolished (not Matt) finish
Knifeless FuseIn good condition
Charge Ti        Any as long as in good condition.
Charge AlAny as long as in good condition.
MiniToolBlack Oxide.
Juice XE6Any Just after a Grey one now
Juice KF4Storm Gray
Juice SC2Inferno Red - Sorted.
Any JuiceCamo scales

Not your everyday Leatherman stuff most of it I know, but if you can help me out - I'll be grateful for the chance to buy or trade for these items.

Cheers,

Yeah, I was wondering that myself... Do you mean like a modded one? Oh, and is there a Juice with camo handles? ::)

Yup - I think it's mentioned in one of the reviews on the main site or maybe the wiki?

I actually have one, but my 12 year old daughter won't let me have it back! I gave it to her a while ago (yes she collects LMs too, with a Wave, Surge, Micra and this PST already). I've tried everything to get her to trade it back, but she won't - lol.

I've been trying to pick up another for a while, but can't find one anywhere - bloody kids.

I'll "borrow" it off her tomorrow and post up some pics - she'll probably demand royalties though - she's pretty sharp :D

Hmm, I am pretty eager to see this PST! I have never heard of such a thing! Are you sure it wasn't modded?

No it's not modded, just a very late version of the PST. I know I read about it on here somewhere, but I can't find it just now. I'll try a quick forum search.

When I originally got it, I wondered at first if it was in fact a PST II with the wrong handles, but I later found articles that mentioned that a few PSTs had added scissors. I gave it my daughter presumably before I knew this - can't remember for sure. I do remember that I picked it up for next to nothing on ebay, and my daughter did that daughter/father eyelash fluttering thing...

I can certainly arrange that - its 1:30 am here now so it'll be tomorrow!

I've been searching for the review / article I read, but can't find it anywhere. From memory, it is basically a PST II (haf serrated blade, scissors etc), but with the same handles / markings as the PST (i.e. it doesn't say PST II on it). I'll have a more thorough search tomorrow - just to prove to myself that I didn't imagine it - lol.

Ahh, I know what you mean now. Actually that IS a PST II, it just doesn't say so on the handles. The early versions of the PST II had the same handles as a regular PST. It wasn't until some years later that they started stamping "PST II" on the handles. :)

Ah, that's it then. It is dated 0298 so was made within a couple of years of the PST II being introduced. I'd remembered it as being older than that. Looking now it has the 'old style' phillips & medium screwdriver stems.

The picture below (sorry about the quality - the light is rubbish here atm) shows it next to a 2003 PST II.

Hey Dave, long time no speak mate (thanks to BT), how are things?

Just been searching Ebay and found this.  I'm not sure if its actually an SLV.  Thought you might be interested to know about it anyway, and likely far better at telling if its what you want! :D

Well, unless she's playing a very cruel joke on me, it looks like the SLV is on the way......

So the list as it stands is this:

ToolVariation I'm After
Charge SLV    In good condition.
SideclipPolished (not Matt) finish
Charge TiAny as long as in good condition.
MiniToolBlack Oxide.
Juice XE6Any Just after a Grey one now
Juice KF4Storm Gray
Any JuiceCamo scales

I only now need a Charge Ti before I can say that I own at least one variation of every Leatherman tool made. Problem is, noone ever parts with their Charges, although I can see why..... ;)

Is that really so or are you actually after "Juice" - "All available with camo scales"? ::) :D

I'll start with "any" then worry about "all" :D

In case you're not aware - even Bob doesn't have any of those - they are as we say in Britain "as rare as rocking horse Colorful Enunciatione"....

Though as I like to point out.  Where do you think small logs come from ;)

Is the XE6 the same as the pro, the latter being for one of the chains (Costco ).  Just showing my ignorance. :)

Just a space. I think the PRO has tweezers too and the XE6 doesn't - I'll check when I get home:)

Yep, that's true. The foil cutter and the tweezers are both "bonus" features on the Pro. They don't make the tool any bigger.

Since the Xe6 is suppose to have it all wonder why they left those features out

As the Pro came afterwards, perhaps they just squeezed in a couple of extra features so Costco could have an exclusive.

Actually, I don't have a Vista- I bought one for my father and he loves it, but I don't think that counts!

I have a grey XE6, BO PST (can't remember if it has cap crimpers or not though), and I have an ST300.  I have no specific desire to get rid of any of them, but feel free to make me an offer on any/all of them.  You never know....

I thought I'd give this thread a bump, as I've made some good progress on it, but there's still the Micra and the Grey XE6 to get that are realistic.

Then I'll make a new list :D

Ash I think the problem Dave has is Ebay does not let UK residents bid on anything sharp  :ahhh :ahhh.

So our fine UK members need the rest of us to either bid for them or trade with them. Major pain in the arse for them  >:( >:(

Mat has it spot on Ashley, so I generally try to see if anyone has one to trade, before going for the relatively expensive option of getting someone to buy it then ship to the UK.

Thanks for the offer though!

PST with scissors, not PST II ?? I didn't know there was such a thing?

Early PST 2's didn't actually have the PST II stamp on them.  I've sold a bunch of them in the past.  It wasn't until a couple years (just my guess) in, that Leatherman actually put the stamp.  Of course, I'm no pro, just commenting on the ones I've seen.  :)
