Title: Smallest Clamshell Package Opener?
Post by: AaronX on June 11, 2014, 08:47:04 AM: Hi guys, I think clamshell packages are the most common and challenging things I can expect to cut without speSmurfpillsed tools, so I would like to carry a tool that can open them. I'm wondering what's the smallest keychain/one-piece tool that can open clamshell packages? I prefer a prybar - will any of the Atwood tools or the Munroe Mega Dangler open them? I'm carrying a Leatherman Style PS now and its small scissors looks like it juust might be able to open one, with some effort. Can the Style CS or Micra open one easily? How about the P38?

I know the Leatherman Wingman and Gerber Dime have package openers - can they cut clamshell packaging? Seems you'd need a very sharp knife if you're not using a scissor action. I mean, I'd have trouble even with a utility knife and I don't think these are as sharp.

there a lot with box opener notches.

I'm not counting one piece tools that are knives themselves.

I guess so, but it needs to be pretty big to work, and I'd probably cut myself.
