The Break Room / Re: Der MTO Stammtisch (German speaking Thread)

Scales are still beautiful but pocket worn. So satisfying to have a knife that had a full life, just imagine what it was use to cut…

General Tool Discussion / Re: What do we have on the way?
« Last post by matzesu on Today at 03:31:50 PM »
Even though i allready bought 2 Swiss Army Knives whit the Delémont EvoGrip S17 and the Huntsman in Black I was not 100 % Happy, so i did decide today to just order an Blue Swiza D09 :
It’s got this cool big Swiza Scissors, an Saw and an Lockable Blade, so the same Size as the S17 and the Huntsman..

I did order it directly at Swiza in Swiss ,
I wonder how expensive the Custom Fees will be because Swiss, even though it’s Part of the European Continent is not an Part of the Schengen Room so it’s might be the same as shipping from USA whit the Analogue Pocket, but I did not found another seller of the Blue Version..

General Tool Discussion / Re: Sharpening methods
« Last post by David Bowen on Today at 03:02:37 PM »
For sharpening started I've been using my Sharpmaker. Does an excellent job and it's easy to use. Instead of alternating left-right on the flats of the stone you use the edge. Then doing three times on the cut side and ones on the backside. Doing this for a few times and depending on how long it's been since being touched up it shouldn't take long.

Before the Sharpmaker I would use a tapered diamond file, and it would absolutely butcher things.

Swiss Army Knights Forum / Re: Sterling silver Princess with bail?
« Last post by Espen on Today at 02:33:15 PM »
Yes, Hallmarking has been an established practice since the 1300s and it got started because it should interestingly enough demonstrate that the silver content was equal to that of an English penny. I did look through some literature i found online, but it did not help me identify the maker. The ribbed nature of the scales gives room for interpretation though as the strike is not that clear.
