Hello, all. While I have owned multitools for a while now, I've just recently become enamored with them. I've been given a couple really cheap tools that found their way into my glove box, or tool box at work to never really be used. Christmas of 2011 I was given a Leatherman Skeletool which promptly found it's way into my pocket and was pretty much an every day used item whether it be at work, or play. Last week one of the pliers jaws broke and I was absolutely crushed. But I sent it off today and hope to receive it back soon and that will be the tool I plan on modding.

I tried living without a multitool and going back to just carrying my knife and I felt pretty much naked. So I just ordered and received a Leatherman Charge TTi. I haven't gotten to use it yet as I'm off work today and just opened the package about 15 minutes ago, but I feel whole once again.

Welcome to MT.O.. :tu: Sorry to hear about your Skeletool, but I'm sure LM will fix it fast.. :) But carrying a TTI at work dosn't sound bad either.. What do you do for a living..?

I'm sure Leatherman will fix it no questions asked, but if someone gets in the regular habit of breaking their tools, I'm sure it gets old real fast.

Welcome to MT.O.. :tu: Sorry to hear about your Skeletool, but I'm sure LM will fix it fast.. :) But carrying a TTI at work dosn't sound bad either.. What do you do for a living..?
I'm a 12V installer for Best Buy, I install stereos, alarms, safety items (back-up cameras and sensors), and now leather interiors. I was using the skeletool to crimp a butt connector as I was being lazy and didn't want to go grab my actual set of crimpers. As soon as I applied pressure to the handles I heard a snap followed by the jaw of my pliers bouncing around my shop floor. The charge is on a completely different level from the skeletool, but I am still really fond of the skeletool. I really wish I could get my hands on a charge TTi knife blade so I can put it in the skeletool. S30V rocks.

I quit carrying the Skeletool and adopted the Charge for that very reason. I never broke it, but I could feel it crying out in pain when I squeezed hard on it.

Welcome! I'm pretty new here myself. I think you'll really like the people here. I've been looking at the Skeletool for myself. I like the carabiner clip on it. :)

I have had one Skeletool do that. The replacement has done just fine (but I use it mostly for lightweight hiking trips).

:D The first LM I sent in for warranty work was also a Skeletool.
