While browsing Facebook, I found a post where someone showed a screenshot from a Vic video revealing the 2019 colour.
And the colour is....

Gold? Hmm, well that's different I guess. I admit I'm not nuts about it but I think the original Pioneer from 1957 was available in a similar color, so maybe they're going back to their archives for this one.

My guess is it will be a lighter shade. I only say this as they went dark 2016, light 2017, dark 2018 ...???2019.

It’s not bad, I think they’re calling it “champagne.” I would have preferred more of a pure yellow, maybe calling it ‘24K gold.’ :)
Still holding out hope the Damasteel 2019 model will be the cadet. ::)

Sorry, no damast steel cadet this year. For 2019 Victorinox will release the Wine Master in damast steel.

Apparently DLT has the 2019 alox champagne SAKs in stock now, but I don't see them on Victorinox's site yet.

I will be curious what guess EMZ comes up with. I am thinking it could be $499 or higher. :think:

I have no idea what price range it will be. Probably in the higher range because the standard Wine Master already is a more expensive knife. On the other hand, it can't be too expensive or else people won't buy. I think it will stay below the 400 Euro threshold.
Addition: I now see this Wine master version comes with smoked oak wood scales. That making it even more expensive...
At the time I paid a short visit to the IWA Vic booth, all the salesmen/women where busy with other customers. I only had a short conversation with one of the salesmen. When I asked if he had a catalog available, the answer was 'no'. There was a catalog lying around at the booth, so I pointed it to him. He explained it was their latest catalog (from 2017!!) and it was strictly for dealers and importers. The fact that I told him I had spent tons of Euro's on Victorinox knives, didn't impress him.
While I had no intention of becoming a retail dealer, I only took some pictures, what they didn't like. And then I left.
I don't think the Vic representatives are arrogant, in fact they were very friendly, but it is more a kind of sturdiness or introvert behavior that makes they have not enough flair.
At the Swiza booth it was a totally different experience. Athough I never bought one of their knives (but I will for sure in future), they gave me the dealer catalog.

I got an email mid day yesterday from DLT saying they were in stock and ready for shipping. I actually ordered one and USPS says I'll get it Monday. Being the nerd I am I went back to DLT's website and they were gone. I went back to Instagram to see the photo I liked from them and it was gone. I'm wondering if they jumped the gun and released them too early and had to take them off the website until Monday 03/18.

That could be it... usually they run out early. Appears they did a lot more this year.

I would agree, i think they sold out a lot sooner the previous year, the easiest way to shift them is to lower the price though :pok:

Mine are on their way to my house. I always get the Pioneer and Cadet, and skip the Classic. Can't wait!

Damn. At first I thought yuck! but the more I see of this champagne gold the more I like it. Another 70 euros -> Victorinox. Cha-ching!

It's a sleeper color, for sure WSpeed. I thought the same thing at first -- champagne? ho-hum -- but in person it is very lovely. I would say it's my 2nd or 3rd favorite color so far in this series. :)
