I'm a big second hand store/garage sale/fair type guy, I love a bargain, and I love rifling through other peoples things.

But I think buying second hand jeans online is a more than a tad bizarre.

Wasn't there a big stink in the UK recently about Victorinox jackets being sold with a Classic chained inside a pocket?

I think the only real problem was that they had been potentially selling them to under 18's, a big no-no here.  The shop decided to stop selling them and the papers got wind of it.  Once again the media blew everything out of proportion.

What I can't understand is while Victorinoxs knives are great value for money and very well priced their luggage and clothing ( which I believe is made in china ) is so expensive  :o

I know what you mean.  While I don't doubt the quality of their other stuff is good you are definitely paying for the brand name.  It's a shame that the store in London seems to be given over to the textiles far more than the knives to.  I wonder how the company is organised, are there separate, autonomous, divisions that do their own marketing/pricing etc?

Its probably a case of if they sell the stuff at a lower price it won't be deemed exclusive and they'll not shift the same numbers despite the price reduction.

They seem to be doing well though, so it wouldn't surprise me if they start to produce an economy line (elinox shirt anyone?).  No visible branding, very similar quality, half the price.  Something to compete with M&S perhaps.

Yes their quality is certainly very good from what I've seen . As Burton McCall is the UK importers and distributors I wonder what part they play in the London shop ?
