Title: login prompt
Post by: twiliter on October 12, 2018, 11:43:27 AM
I'm wondering why I get a login prompt with ios12 on every page. I have login info stored for other sites and this does not happen, only here.

I don’t.
On iPhone firefox( which doesn’t show some images or any video by the way. )

Deleting your cookies and/or clearing your cache should fix it.

Should but doesn't.

If I turn off autofill passwords, the prompt doesn't happen, but then my login info isn't available either.

I could remove the login info and manually log in every time. That sounds like as much fun as texting with a numeric keypad.  :P

What I get for being an iSheep I suppose.  ::)

Is Firefox better than Safari in any way? I tried it years ago with Windows and it wasn't very impressive.

Sounds like an ios12 improvement

There are plenty of browsers on the market, obviously not a great solution for ios (or more specifically ios12) users, but the problem seems to lie with ios/safari since no one else has this problem, and given that I can't exactly track it down myself I don't know what's causing it.

I'm currently on Chrome on Linux/Android.

I have Opera and Firefox for testing, and more recently added Vivaldi Browser, which I really like but until I can use it on all my devices it's not a full-time solution. (They don't have Android versions yet)

It's like the browser is landing on the login box on the site, on every page. I think it's an ios problem, but it only does it on this site too. I didn't have the issue with ios 11.

I think there are ios simulators around that you could try, but not sure if any of them would mimic 12 accurately. Maybe a friend with an iPhone could show you?

Firefox for Windows or Linux mint = best thing since sliced bread penicillin.  :D If only it wasn't for that little video stutter bug on linux mint, I need to figure that out (not firefox's fault, it happens with chrome too)...

iPhone firefox: can't see many images, and no bbcode'ed videos.  ??? At least it seems to be a tad faster than chrome. Safari is good.

I tried Chrome years ago with Windows too, it hijacked my whole system. Had to do a restore.  :ahhh

Scared of that.  :D

Another workaround would be to stay logged in 24/7, whether I'm here or not!  :D

Ooooh, nice looking browser. Installing it now.  :salute:
I think it's a driver issue though.  :-\

Wish I had an extra one to send you Whoey, but with the price of these iGadgets, selling or trading in the old one is necessary to fund the new one!  :ahhh

That is an interesting looking browser Pabs, makes me almost wish I had a PC again.

Almost.  :D

My EwPhone sometimes makes me want to bash it. When I want to select or delete a word I'm typing on the internet, it freezes for 5 or so seconds. Every. Single. Time. It makes replies on MTO a real chore.

Installed. Very nice.  :like: I think I'll transition to using it.
Video bug still there though.  I need to figure out the intel drivers or something.

Sounds annoying, kind of like a login popup.  :D

How old is it?

Is that Firefox doing that?

Good point. Safari test now. Testing testing. One two three. YUP, it’s still a problem on safari.
Phone is a 6, btw.

Never had that problem Pabs, but my first iPhone was the 7+

Sounds like a video codec issue more than driver. Do you have restricted extras package installed?

If I could use it on all my devices I would switch over for sure, it's very fast compared to chrome, and seems to be able to use the same plugins and addons.
