Title: Multitool for Sweaty Hands?
Post by: Teofilo on January 23, 2016, 05:44:36 AM
When feeling uncomfortable, or getting tense or excited, my hands sweat.
Don't the Black Oxide tool or Victorinox Multitools rust easily from
sweat or perspiration?
From experience, Leatherman MTs easily shows signs of rust after use
of the implements (sometimes even the plier head) in a day or two, if not cleaned or oiled.

I'd imagine the BO would inhibit rust more than untreated SS.  By nature its a corrosive preventive measure.  I've not experienced rusting on either SS or BO tools when exposed to water for prolonged periods tho not sure about sweaty hand.

My Vic Spirit hasn't had any rust spots in over 6 years and my hands get sweaty fast

I suffer from hyperhidrosis with very severe sweaty hands (dripping wet) and my Spirit is rust free. I'd recommend it for sweaty betties everywhere!

I vote for the spirit as well.

Maybe some small strips of grip tape down the handle too.
