Alox and cellidor. One scale of the red one, on the pen side, broke, so I redressed it green, off a Classic, tweezers and toothpick only. It´s a very tiny little bit thinner now.

I have to admit I have had several MiniChamps go through the wash at various times...I usually have one in the watch pocket of my jeans and I will forget to check the pocket before washing the jeans.....but, like you say they come out nice and clean.

I like the idea of a MiniChamp Monday!  It also makes sense that it would follow Swiss Champ Sunday!

I am quite a fan of the MiniChamp and have 5 of them (1 is the original and the rest are the MiniChamp II).  My green scale MiniChamp II is attached to my car key-chain and a red scale MiniChamp II is attached to the key-chain for my wife's car.  I have an Alox MiniChamp II and a second red scale MiniChamp II plus the original MiniChamp.

Here is a MiniChamp ready to attach to a key-chain:

It's a phone pic in natural daylight but out of direct sunlight. I quite like the slate as an interesting background which has some iron pyrites inclusions.

Thanks all for the kind words.  I like Spyderco knives which is why I had to have a Vic/Spydie combo.
Now if they'd put an Opinel blade in a Vic, that'd be a must have for me as well.

Does anyone have the midnight minichamp?  Is the light worth it?

I should say that I used to EDC a flashlight up until about 10 years ago.  Now I bring a flashlight when I think I'll need one - camping, and vacation mainly.

I should also say that I am occasionally guilty of using my phone as a flashlight in a pinch.

That said - I wonder if the light has a fun factor to it, or if it would just bother me.

Thoughts?

I have a Midnight Manager.  The light is good for very limited tasks, like finding a key.  It's fun to have, but I'd rather have the pen.

I'm definitely finding the MC very useful but I really do use the awl and jewelers sd on the PTC and would miss them.
Your right about that cut and picker blade. If I could I would add a cut and picker and the safety blade to the PTC. That would be the perfect SAK. The pen I could take or leave.

Cabbage. Should’ve paid more attention though. I started to slice and to start with found the blade rather poor with the thicker bits. So I changed blade.

Better to use a blade not the nail file I find ...

When I was a lad of about 14, this design "choice" did a number on the thumb of a kid on my school bus.  Not only did he open the knife instead of the file... when he went to close it, he somehow forgot... ... which way the blade folded to close.  :ns:

It's a Casio & was £28 from Amazon and so, if it dies at work  :dunno:

I think I saw Gareth had the same (different colour) but don't recall the thread  ::)

Sneaking in at the end of Monday.

In case anyone is wondering from my photo above why I'd have a tiny lanyard on a 58mm, I call it my "two-finger lanyard". I can get two fingers through it securely and still use the tools.

Inspired by using the micro-light to look behind my clothes dryer while stretched over the top of it. I really didn't want to drop my MiniChamp behind the dryer and have to drag the thing out to retrieve it.   :(

I generally do a small lanyard on mine too.  Fellow on an EDC group asked about lanyards and I told him that the knife dictates what kind of lanyard is appropriate.

Return of the prodigal!  My wife was going through some of her stuff and found my old Skinny MiniChamp (top in photo). :woohoo:  When I bought it, I thought it was thick for such a small knife, but the newer model is, well, let's just say that the scales do make it look fat.

The Alox Solo is a great knife and so is the Alox MC.  What better way to spend Monday Oneday and Minichamp Monday than with this pair.

[ This attachment cannot be displayed inline in 'Print Page' view ]

The Alox Solo is my food safe knife.  I’ve used the Pioneer and Pioneer X a few times prepping some food, but it does get non food use so sanitizing can be a bit of a job.  The Solo only touches food.  The MC does get varied use, but it’s pretty easy to clean with such little surface. The wharncliffe blade is my favorite for small fruits.

Today I cut up a few bananas and celery for the kiddo.

I am sorry that you missed out on the eclipse, Barry :(
Around here (Raleigh, NC), you could not really tell an eclipse was happening unless you had viewing glasses or created a pinhole projection. It became dimmer, but nothing like the 2017 eclipse where my area was just outside the band of totality. On that day, the sky became a deep, dark blue and everything was eerily lit.

I actually got a chance to see just a few moments of it.  The sky's cleared just enough to catch it about 5 minutes after I posted that picture.  It was great!

Here's my (second-favourite) Minichamp. I gave the other one to my brother when he moved to Spain and I hope he makes good use of it! The Minichamp here is alongside my favourite historical text -- Wulfilas' Gothic translation of the New Testament (and like five pages of Nehemiah) from ~365AD.

I love mine!  I have one of each, a cellidor and an Alox.  This is my true EDC.

That's the only thing I miss on that one Phil.  My other one has tweezers and the pen.

I absolutely agree, I used to exclusively carry alox models but I realised (quickly) how much I miss the tweezers and teethpick. My wife thinks it's weird to have a reusable teethpick but as long as one sanitises it correctly it can't be that gross, right? (they're used to pick more than one tooth -- they should be called teethpicks, like teethbrushes and teethpaste! I have very strong opinions about this. :D

My wife is the one who actually uses her toothpick in her Classic for it's intended purpose.  She says the same thing about sanitizing it.  So far so good!
