Title: What Would Cause This?
Post by: toolguy on October 26, 2018, 10:49:34 PM
I posted a picture of a Farmer in today's Farmer Friday.

The issue which I have is improper color rendition. The Farmer if Purple yet it appears blue through my camera lens and blue when I down load it to my computer. This occurred when I took a picture outside in natural light.

I returned inside, set up an artificial light, took a picture and the purple color was better represented.

First picture outdoors, second picture inside with artificial light.

What gives my camera gurus?

Is it an actual camera lens or an lcd screen?

If it's a lens, it would have to be related to the external lighting. If it's an lcd screen, it could be something off with the white balance maybe

It must be an LCD screen since it's a small point-n-shoot camera.

I'll check the white balance,thanks.

Light can definitely play tricks with color

Light can definitely play tricks with color

This is one of the weirdest phenomenons that I've seen with this Nikon.Believe me when I tell you that this Farmer is purple, yet it appears blue on my LCD screen.

I'm going to take a pic tomorrow with a true blue Farmer from the Cutlery Shoppe to illustrate the difference.

My Farmer looks like this in person.

It looks closer to this color when I take a pic of it.

Is it an older camera?
If so, your CCD might be starting to play up.
Have you left it in intense heat or pointed it at an extremely bright light source? (Like the sun as an example).
