Title: Backside chisel and small driver: are they swappable?
Post by: shadowrider on May 27, 2018, 09:40:32 PM: Models such as the Craftsman have extra tools on the backside: a wood chisel and a small straight driver, respectively on the metal file back spring and on the wood saw one.

I'd like to know, are these small tools interchangeable? Is their thickness at the base the same?

To the best of my knowledge, the metal saw spring and wood saw spring are almost identical, if not identical, so the chisel and small screwdriver should be swappable.

I suppose this means they made a few with the screwdriver, took publicity photos, and then changed their mind at the last minute. Such a last minute alteration wouldn't be possible if the pieces weren't interchangeable...(though I could be wrong!)

Once somebody told me that the screwdriver base is 2.5mm and the chisel is 2.0mm, but I'd like to double check that.

This is for mod I'm thinking about, that has a small SD on the back of the metal saw (there's no can opener so I'll need a small flat SD).
