Title: Buck Vanguard New Sheath
Post by: sergemaster on August 12, 2010, 04:17:20 AM
Amici,
The Buck Vanguard is an impressive fixed blade knife that it would not be a bad choice for anyone to have when deciding to spend a little time in the field or engaging in some bush craft activities.

Beginning with the overall finish of the knife with its rosewood finger grooved handle, brass hilt and pommel both polished to a high sheen, plus it truly fits great in the hand.

Sporting only a 4 1/8" blade, the Vanguard is no slacker, which makes it a prime candidate for a sheath upgrade so the first item of business was to replace the less than fitting stock sheath with something custom.

I contacted a friend of mine in FL who makes sheaths for a living and after some R&D, came up with what we thought would be a great design that would truly complement this beautiful tool..

Here are some pics of what we came up with in the end. I believe this sheath makes the Vanguard a must have for any collection..

Cheers,
Serge

I know this is a old post but I would really like to get a sheath like that. Any chance?

Sergemaster:

I recently picked up a first-run, 1992 Buck Vanguard and rather liked the sheath - until I saw this one. That is very nice. Well done and fits the Vanguard very well.
