Title: Wenger Travel Card...mabey
Post by: Noa Isumi on January 18, 2019, 08:48:11 AM
So I came across an Ebay seller with a stack of "wenger travel cards"...
Now at 4$ I figured they where fakes, but it was still an ok price since I have never actualy seen one real or not. So I ordered 2.

 :mail:

After handeling them in comparison to Sakawiki as well as other cards and brands both real and fake I am fairly shure these are real.

It is suprising how much thinner they are to the Vic Quatro I carry, yet have the same feel to the finish both in blade polish and plastic texture. The fit and finish is where one would expect a brand name to be.

Tooth pick is uniquely centred on its head and the tweezer has a hoop that is bent equaly, not on one side like most of this type. The mirror has an oval center with line etched 'frame' which seems line an excessive detail if it weren't real. (It probably wont show in pics. yes the film is still on it)

They are intresting additions to the card collection.
SakWiki says Wenger didnt actualy make their cards but has no answer who did.

So any thought on their validity?

Read somewhere here in the forums that Travel Card is not actually made by Wenger but is sold together with Wenger SAK...

As usual, can’t remember exactly where I read it...

Thanks thats pretty much what I was allready seeing in the Wiki, but I hadnd seen those threads.
Having the old Wenger Amazon listing and packageing pic in the other threads is helpful.

I have also seen pics of these sold loose with just a stickey label. Mine came loose and un-tagged hence the question.
Since all immages and details seem to match and the linked threads show it as a 3rd party product w/o indication of counterfeit I'm going to guess my seller was on the up&up

(Havent seen a matching knock-off anywhere anyway; China likes Vic and ToolLogic too much)

Since I took measurments allready I will still post them

That signal mirror on the back looks cool... which Vic would make a survival card version...
