I was trying on a few watches the other day.
One at 101g was quite noticeable however the strap fitted well and it was comfortable.
Another at 68.5g was nice and light but the strap didn't fit as well and it was annoying.
Is weight something you consider when shopping for a watch?
How heavy are your watches?
Is it more about the fit than the weight?
What is the maximum weight watch you would be prepared to wear for work?

It was my work watch when I was a rapper in a rapping band. I don't wear it so much now I'm not a rapper.

well, the lighter the better, but more solid, manly watches tend to weigh more.
You do not really notice the weight much

I've never actually weighed my watches but I tend to prefer them to be on the lighter end of the scale.

I have some (steel cased diver style) watches that are rather heavy and it depends on teh strap if the "balance" on teh wrist is acceptable or the watch is a nuisance, but I tend not to go bigger than about 40mm on watch cases. And I do like lighter watches, for example the Marathon style Praetoran Legionnaire I own did only make it to my wrist a few times - It just feels too heavy, althoiugh I really like teh case design.

I'd say fit first and foremost. Harder to notice the weight if it stays nice and settled where you want it to be.

I haven't weighed my watches either; however, given that I don't wear metal bracelets mine usually are/were light ones.
I'm all for good fit. Bulk and height are two points to consider. I prefer my watch inobtrusive.
The Casio Protrek 550 I'm wearing practically every day since I got it a year ago tends to get knocked on walls and doors because, despite the good fit, it is taller than what I'm used to.
I try to wear a watch as little as possible, at home and at work I remove it, usually I'll do the same if there's work to do with my hands.

164g is my heaviest, 49 lightest. Honestly I don't really notice the weight, only difference is the lighter watch is low profile and will slip inside cuff of winter jackets.
The diver has a stainless bracelet on it, not rubber.

I love my diver on a ss bracelet, but as the day goes along and i get hot it becomes tighter,so wear it looser and then the weight of the watch hangs down my wrist ,probably why i stick too my G's and rubber straps :tu:

Not a traditional watch as such but I wear a Garmin Fenix and its a solid 82 grams; anything larger is impractical.

I find if I wet my arm where the watch goes right before putting it on, it stays put all day long.

I like having a solid weight so it doesn't feel cheap but I don't want a brick on my wrist at the same time

I go for lightweight and non obstrusive/not sticking out.

I meant to get back to this thread a lot sooner but better late than never huh? Especially since I have one more watch to add to the list! I never thought of myself as a watch collector, but I seem to have quite a few for someone who isn't collecting.... :whistle:

I prefer my watches light, but how they fit matters a lot to me.
My wenger field watch feels heavier on the wrist, than my citizen eco drive that ways about the same.
My seiko skx007 is quite heavy, but is comfortable to wear so its ok.
My g-shocks are all very comfy to wear, and feels lighter than they actually are.
I hope that made sense.

I think it's a combination of the weight, center of gravity of the watch, and the strap that influences me. I have an SNE283 that feels a bit top heavy, so it likes to move around a lot with the leather strap I have it on unless strapped down tighter than I generally like.
Otherwise, I like a heavier watch with a good heavy bracelet on it just fine. :)
