As a kid, falling off a bike or as a grown-up smashing a car into a tree, what have you broken (so far)? Any funny stories are welcome.
:pok: :pok: :D :D
-
Yup, broke my tail (coccyx) :ahhh
-
I don't know how, but as far as I know, I've broken no bones at all.

Left arm (forearm) 4th grade
Right arm (forearm) 7th grade
Right 4th metacarpal 7th grade
Right 5th metacarpal (boxer's fracture) Late 1980's

Same here...plenty of stitches and ER visits, but somehow, no broken bones.
-
Oh snap, no broken bones for me either.
-
No broken bones. Almost fractured my nose once growing up though

I have been pretty lucky. And kind of stupid.
I broke many bones in my right hand in high school repeatedly punching a brick wall. I wasn't very smart in those days either.
I have broken ribs on more occasions than I can remember. Two memorable ones were in a bar fight when I caught a 2x4 that someone was hitting me with and another was slipping on ice while walking my dogs and landing on some other uneven ice.
The biggest one I've suffered has been my heel bone, aka calcaneous, aka the bone that holds most of your foot to the end of your leg.
It's currently held together with 8 screws and a steel plate and the post traumatic arthritis makes me quite unhappy much of the time.
I also injured my knee years ago in a fight in high school, and it bothered me for many years until I crushed my opposite foot. Since then my knee hasn't been nearly as much of an issue. :D

None that were mine....

No big bones at all for me, just fingers and toes. Those dont feel like they count, but they did hurt.
-
4 ribs in a motorcycle accident hit and run with a car.
-
Broke my collar bone playing football, broke my hand in a fight and broke my toe kicking something to hard! :)
-
Oh jeez, too many to count. Ribs, jaw, fingers, toes, right hand twice, left foot.........
-
Oh, I remember, I did crack a couple of ribs falling off of a ladder. Didn't really bother me when it happened, but did the next day. When I told my wife it felt like they were moving more than usual, she made me go to the doctors.
-
I have never gone to a doctor for ribs. I just don't see much point to that. Of course, seeking medical help after an injury is always a good idea, I've just had it happen too often to worry about it.

Nothing they're going to do for ribs unless you drop a lung. Same thing for coccyx. Not like they're gonna cast your @$$.

Yeah, I didn't want to go, but as they say, happy wife = less nagging! :D

I found out I had two broken ribs while in rehab in 2007. You quit drinking and things start hurting. I went to the doctor there complaining that I couldn't lay on my left side and it hurt to breathe. I just brushed his hand on my side and I wanted to scream. He goes, "yep, broken ribs. Any idea how you did it?" To this day I have no clue how it happened........

The foot has an odd story to it too. I broke that responding to a first aid squad call at college. I was running towards the building on campus and decided to take a shortcut down a hill. I slipped, slid down, and nailed the foot on a rock. >:( I figured it was just bruised, but about a week later while with the ambulance at the ER a doc insisted on taking a look after seeing me gimping. Sure enough, two broken bones.......
-
I've broken a few bones, but luckily, none were mine. >:D
-
Let's see...
Leg playing HS football
Tailbone playing roller hockey
Nose (?) Wrestling
-
I broke a few bones in my right hand in a bar fight.
I also broke my left ankle in a bar fight.
Yea I rarely go to any bars now.
-
Broke my right collar bone twice and the left one once. One was playing backyard football. One was in a fight. And the final time was when I completed a world record. (Unofficial)
Since you're curious..
I bombed down a hill in all my motorcycle leathers and helmet on a razor scooter. (Ya know the all aluminum little scooter with rollerblade wheels. )
I hit 68 MPH clocked by my buddies car alongside me at which point I crashed. I'm pretty sure that is a land speed record on one of those little scooters 8)

Both bones in left forearm right above the wrist, was doing stunts on roller blades when I was young.
I don't touch ice skates because of that.
-
Lets just say that I spent a long time learning to listen to the voices in my head. Especially when they tell me to MOVE!!
Right forearm, both bones, with the radius having broken cleanly and green stcked in the same fall.
Right hand, ring finger
Right hand, the bone between wrist and thumb (cracked), bones on the outter edge of the hand
Right shoulder, multiple dislocations
Left hand, all fingers but the thumb
Left ribs, cracked or broke all but the top most one
Right ribs, cracked three of them
Right knee, dislocated the patella twice
Right foot, large and second toes, bones in my arch
Left leg, tibia
Can I add two minor concussions to this?
Yeah, I listen to the voices in my head when the scream "DOWN" or something similiar. Or at least I do now.

..... So I was a middle schooler around 12yrs old and was at my little bros feild day event at his elementary school. There was a loading dock on the side of the school where me and a few friends were hanging out and I got the bright idea I'd jump my bike off it. Well it was the kind inset in the building and only had maybe 15 feet between building and this 4' drop off. I thought "easy I'll just pull a wheelie and even it out flat as I go off the edge" well it didn't go as planned. This loading dock had a 4" steel plate edge sticking up off the flat of the dock. It stopped my back wheel dead in its tracks and flung me straight down the dock face first. I got up and my "friends" had run off. I walked around back and threw the crowd of people staring at me to where my brother and mom where. She flipped out and called an ambulance then brought me in the bathroom to tend to wounds. Apon seeing myself in the mirror I pasted out. I awoke in the ambulance. Had rocks in my face and my nose was off to the left, missing 2 teeth, left hand boxers fracture middle, ring and pinky fingers, and left cheek bone was fractured and last but not least left knee cap was cracked. Yeah this was a stupid stunt

Nothing that I know of? I've been lucky, when I was little I got my finger cought in the sliding door of a van, nothing, played both soccer and karate, nothing, worked in some bad situations, nothing, but one thing I was never to sure about was, as I just put the kids to bed and as I turned around and walked down the hall I accidentally kicked the furnace, OUCH! Nothing at first but the next moring when I woke up the two toes that kicked it were like black! So I don't know what happened.. JR
-
I'm boring, one finger, one thumb and a couple of cracked ribs.
-
Haven't broken a single bone. Considering some of the dumb things I've done that is pure luck.
-
Compound fracture of the left leg,and both calcaneus, all at the same time. Managed to lock the keys into a squash court, and jumped in from the balcony. Of course I should have dropped in....
Ended up having to drag myself across the court Mad Max style to open the court

Ok, you broke toes, how do you know are they just soar and like black? JR
-
Both wrists, my nose and destroyed a joint in ny finger

I fractured my left wrist in fourth grade. I was roller skating home from my friend's house. There was some gravel on the sidewalk ahead of me, so I went off the curb to avoid it. Managed to hit a patch that threw me off balance, went off the curb, landed with my arm under me, and crack! Cast for six weeks.
I'm also convinced I broke my left clavicle about ten years ago in a pick up game of football. Hurt like a smurf, wasn't able to lift anything heavy for a month, but never went to have a doctor check it out.

This was years back, but o had to argue with the doctors as they just assumed I'd bruised them, right up to the point when I asked them to listen to the bones grind :D
That got my foot xrayed then :D

I broke my tailbone when i was maybe 10-12. I had a thing about liking to try 'long jumps' We'd get up on top of freight trains and jump between the cars and such. But one day, I was running down a hill on a golf course, and jumped a sand trap. The grass was dewy, and when I landed on the other side, my feet went out from under me and I broke my @$$.
Tail bone.
When I was a good deal younger, my older brothers were messing around with me and knocked me unconscious by whacking me into a telephone pole. I now have a bone chip in my forehead. So, I guess I technically broke my skull. It explains a lot, really. :D
Floating bone chip in skull.
All my other injuries have been stitches, not bone problems.
