Three nice colors!

I am planning to slide through this without a  purchase. I am, I am going to really try.

Got 2 SS models.  The one in hand is 4/13!

Ouch , just slice my thumb on the blade checking the date code

Correction, it’s SS with tint of bright red thumb prints :tu:

Yeah, it's a great knife.  Really nicely weighted pull on the blade.  F&F is pleasing.  I'm not convinced the Ablett design "ergonomic" shape adds much to the equation but I don't hate it either.

I have very few knives with blades over three inches (the legal limit in my city), but I'll give some thought to joining...even though my uses of blades would be pretty repetitive.

There's nothing to stop you from owning a yellow 91mm SAK.
Just lack of a set of yellow scales to slap on. That and I've pretty well joined "Team No Back Layer Tools."

I  wish Vic would just go to nylon.
I would agree. That makes me wonder if nylon is somehow less sustainable (to use a current "green" buzzword) than Cellidor. Of course, I'd awlso like to see them bless us with Micarta, and maybe G-10...

More great photos and uses, y'awl! :like: I wonder how long Rich can go in this challenge without buying something?

Day 1

I'm beginning the challenge with three Micras. At left is a green 02/20-03/20. In the middle is a blue Lexan 12/01, gifted to me by Aloha not long after I joined MTo. The red 07/20 is owned by Mrs. FX. Tomorrow will see the green one in action.

I might poke around eBay and see if there are any interesting Micras floating around. :ahhh

I've got a few edc blades that are 4" and over, but going to skip challenges for a bit to focus on things.

Totally understand, DB.  Of course, would be great to have you should you change your mind.

I thinked Spirit since i mainly carry it on edc bag during challenge and use it only when needed (hopefully not needed many times)

Only Tools Matters

That is a good choice.  I have paired the Explorer and Spirit many times before.

So happy to join my first challenge and its an easy start using my favourite SAK

Used at work tightening jubilee clips on an engine, and slicing some strawberrys for my little girl with my non work explorer!

Great to have you Brad! Is that a whittling blade?

There's nothing to stop you from owning a yellow 91mm SAK. My  Explorer was red when I bought it. I simply bought some yellow Plus scales on the Bay of Es.

The only thing stopping me is spending the money on new scales. I feel I need to earn them when the current ones wear out or are damaged.

:like: I wanted a yellow 91mm for the longest time, but I don't think that'll ever happen. A yellow Bantam, on the other hand, would be more doable.

As I don't (and likely won't) own an Explorer, I cannot participate. But I'll observe from the sidelines!

A yellow bantam would look nice
