Syph007 just finished up this incredible tumbled Ti Scientist with brass magnifier and hidden scale drawer for me. This will be my second custom from him, and I can't wait to get it in hand. You've out done yourself, sir! :salute:

Mine too! I've loved the Scientist ever since I first learned about it on SAKWiki and managed to track one down on eBay. Syph actually made my custom using a second Scientist from eBay as a donor.

That look very stylish indeed! :tu:

Wowzers! Looks like another Syph Masterpiece!

Wonderful. That drawer is the best invention since sliced bread. Or something like that. The wheel maybe.

Hootchie Mama! Give us lots of pics when it arrives!

Syph does wonders with Ti and this is another masterpiece. Lucky you ! :like:

Yes, yes... but can he make one of these?

Bob's creations are things of beauty, congratulations :tu:

Great. Thanks. Now I've got ANOTHER SAK on my wish list.
In all seriousness...
Am I the only one amazed at that brass lens holder? I mean, yes, the slide-out is awesome, but... BRASS MAGNIFYING GLASS! Holy cow, that's cool!

According to Bob, the old magnifiers in the grey plastic housing are more fragile than the current model that he normally uses. He says he broke three lenses before getting one installed intact, and probably won't do another conversion of the old style one to brass housing. He'll still convert the new style magnifier to brass, though.
The only reason I wanted the old magnifier is that I wanted to use the older, long inline Phillips that was original on the Scientist because it has a finer tip than the new, shorter one on something like the Explorer.

Fear not I can engrave a unicorn and anodize the horn blue. 😀

Got the Scientist in the mail today. It’s even better in real life than in the pics. Hit the brass cross with some Simichrome and it shined up nicely. The scale drawer holds four wooden toothpicks, which is exactly what I wanted it for. Syph does amazing work!

Awesome. :tu: :like:

Thanks for the Simichrome tip. I´ll have to try it on my Buccaneer. Does it affect the titanium too?
-
BEAUTIFUL!!

That is just gorgeous TennTexan
I'm really impressed with Syph and his custom knives :tu: :dd:
-
Instead of toothpicks, you could keep four short bits of Spaghetti in there...
-
:like: dem toothpicks! :ahhh

The polish didn’t seem to affect the tumbled Ti, but then again I tried to focus my efforts on the brass cross.
-
I gotta try that polish. Cross looks awesome. :tu:
