Title: Stuhrling Depthmaster Professional watch.
Post by: Chako on August 18, 2018, 01:43:17 AM
I am having good luck with the local pawn shops, especially when it comes down to finding not bad new watches. This is the latest acquisition, a blue dial Stuhrling Depthmaster professional 10 ATM watch. I had to take off the crystal protective plastic cover for the photo.

The back of the case has a nice submarine image...kinda neat.

Nice find, Chako! :like:

Stuhrling is a good company, similar to Invicta, but with a slightly better(yet limited) line of models. I have the big-dial dress automatic and like it a lot. Only problem I have had was the seals not performing properly right out of the box.  :ahhh
Check the gasket in the case back, if you can, to make sure there is an o-ring there and that it isn't smashed in spots. Mine had flat spots on the gasket that allowed moisture in an fogged the glass crystal.
I was able to fix it, but that seems like something that shouldn't have happened on a $125 watch.

Sorry to post my Stuhrling watch, Chako, but I hate to see a thread about a truly underrated watch brand sink to obscurity. That diver was a good find and should make a good wearing watch.  :)

This is the 22J automatic calendar I wrote about. The watch is quite large and the dial is black-pearlesque with a great natural look. When the light hits the dial just right, it reflects nicely (see photo 2) Split seconds to the left and oversized crown. The exhibition back is cool, but the movement isn't of a very high grade, so watch snobs will think it is silly. The simplicity of the movement lends to its' beauty, in my opinion. :)
