Title: Found a stash of Wengers, NIB
Post by: bren10man on January 14, 2014, 06:36:43 AM
Gents:

I went to a local gunshop for the first time since I moved here 6 months ago.

Place was like a MUSEUM or flea market.  Lots of old guns, ammo, firearms accessories and knives.  The owner is at least 80 years old it seems.

Front of store, in a display case full of knives, there were boxes of Wengers, all NIB.   Some out of the box had the backpacking man with walking stick logo.

I saw some Swiss Bucks, too.

He has a revolving Victorinox display case with post 1992 (with hook).  Biggest model was the Craftsman.

I will go back there soon, see what he has, and report.  If I find something anyone is interested it, and since I am not in Korea like 5 years ago (I was the one who found the 28 or so NIB First Mates) I can easily move these suckers without a middleman.

Stay tuned.

I kept 1.  All the rest were sold within 3 months (I had to pace myself as I bought them at cost, sold them to Felinevet, and he took care of the rest...AND...since I was overseas, I had to be mindful of customs, rules, etc).

That is like a dream come true. I'm going to scour the country side in search of old timey gun shops for NOS SAKs now.  :D

Did you see any ALOX?

Very interesting :tu:  I would love to come across a place like that, but nothing really around my area, at least as far as I know :(

Patience, young Padawans........I gotta go back (unable to today) and dive in.  Lord knows what I will find.

Keep in mind: this is a GUN-SHOP.  It was like he used to go to gun shows and such with all the stuff I found there.   Lots of firearms and such there.  He had a NIB 1970's S&W M34-1 2-in barrel .22 Long Rifle revolver.  He has a S&W Model 29-2 8" barrel .44 Magnum revolver (Dirty Harry's was a M29-2 but with 6" barrel...if it had of been the 6" version, I would have scooped it up).  This is the USA.  Lots of Case, Buck, etc. stuff.  There are SAKs...how much and what type is the question.

This shop is NOT like this:

Went back to shop today.  All were over $30.  All common models and a few Swiss Buck.

Not worth it.
