If you have more than 1,000 pics which most of us do on your account(mine has 1700) you cant upload anymore unless you get a paid subscription. Oh well, guess we will have to use imgur or delete half the photos

Deleting the pics is just as annoying as deleting bloated email inbox, not sure I have the patience

I just left my account as is and have been using Imgur :salute: I only use photo hosting for MTO, I use Google Photos for all my regular pic taking :tu:

What does suck though is that they will start deleting pics over the 1K after today :facepalm: I had more pics than I should have and I guess I should have known that this was coming ::) Hoping it doesn't mess to many threads up in here though :bnghd:

Just deleted 1600 images from my flickr stream. :( I do have copies of everything so if anyone spots a smurfed image link anywhere that they need to see I can probably re-upload a copy.

You can batch organize here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/organize, which isn't too bad

I opened a flickr and imgur account just before PB went south. I've got most all my pics on imgur as it was easier to use than flickr. I do have around 700 pics on flickr and under the limit so I'm glad I went with imgur as my main hosting site.

I opened a flickr and imgur account just before PB went south. I've got most all my pics on imgur as it was easier to use than flickr. I do have around 700 pics on flickr and under the limit so I'm glad I went with imgur as my main hosting site.

I left everything as is, figured it would be easier just using another hosting site (IMGUR) than trying to delete photos. I switched as soon as the whole SmugMug buyout got started.

Yeah, it was interesting looking through the pics I'd got on there and trying to work out what to keep, and what to upload in future. MTO stuff will go in the gallery from now on and I'll keep flickr for 'good' photos and sets that tell a story.

gonna take me awhile, I think they have it pushed back to February 5th, I can't get on the site right now, must be a mass exodus of pics blowing up the server

I just upgraded to Pro. I think it's too much of a hassle to search through thousands of pictures. And this way all my pictures are save and secure.

just deleted about 500pics, there are a lot of duplicates which I cant figure out why 2 copies of the same pic got on the account, where on my phone there's just one copy, almost like they intentionally upped your count to get you over 1K and panic to pay money

I paid. There are sooooo many pictures in there. Don't want to lose them.

Looks like Flickr is managing this better than photobucket so far.

website and app don't seem to be working anymore

They just changed servers or something similar.
I personally don't use the app but recall reading a notice to update to the new app.
For me the site was down for approx a day but now is working again.

I updated the app and its worse, I cant get it to upload pics to the website so I can't post pics right now
And when I try to create new password that the site is requiring now it gets hung up, maybe it needs some tweaks

And can't complain at all. I kinda liked the pre-SmugMug Flickr better, but Imgur hasn't ever given me a problem. Yahoo/Verizon really messed up big time. That, and certain political views expressed by their journalists is why my Yahoo account is nothing but what I use for getting discounts/junk mail.

I'm trying to make an account on imgur, but I can't get past the registration screen, everytime I hit "next" the cursor goes back to user name field and I have tried multiple names that are available, getting fed up.
Then I tried to download the app and try to backdoor my way in, but I didn't have my itunes password handy so I gave up, maybe try later but it shouldnt be this hard
I found a workaround for getting flickr pics to post, but they are too small, when I preview the post they are nice and big, but when I hit post they get shrunk, gotta be a better way while the flickr site is still rebuilding

In short because the website has been set up to be dynamic (desktops and mobile use) images that are hyperlinked get shrunk.
This bugged me as well.
So now I chop off the url portion of the link...

Thanks for that Zoidberg, I finally got through the imgur registration, but it took away 2 hours of my life :rofl: Must have been an issue with the site like Steve said, I was only able to view an older registration page that didnt require your phone number, once I got the newer page It wasnt sending me the confirmation text for over an hour, but nice to have a second option and I will try your edited version also :tu:

One tip for imgur, use the huge thumbnail size for the forum, This way when someone quotes your pic it doesn't get blown up to full size.
