Title: Fitting a SOG saw into the MP600
Post by: Troels on February 22, 2017, 10:57:07 PM
I always wanted a saw in the MP600 and SteveC has already provided the inspiration: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,67584.0.html

Some SOG tools came with the mail today

The SOG tools do not fit the MP600 without adjusting the shape to fit the lock but the pivot hole is a perfect fit.
I used a diamond file for the adjustment

The adjusted SOG saw blade - together the knife blade and an un-adjusted SOG saw blade

The SOG saw blade fitted into the MP600 with some wobble (app. 5mm back and forth) due to overfiling the notch. The wobble does not bother at all for a saw blade but with other tools a more precise fit would be recommended. The saw has a length of 6.5 cm which is the same length as the other "long" tools on the MP600 but sligtly shorter than saws on other brand MTs.

(The mini reamer is another small mod made from the smallest flat head driver)

... and of course a test of the saw - works great  :tu:

That looks really cool!

Have you got any other mods in store for that MP600?

I love that SOG still sells components and that they can be adapted to fit other tools.
