I made some Supreme Triple Chunk Jalapeño brownies. Prepared with a Betty Crocker mix and added a 4oz can of Ortega HOT diced jalapeños, that I put through a mini chopper to puree first. Taste just like brownies with a nice spicy kick.

A friend brought me some amber jack and it was a nice day out, so I decided it was perfect for a fish fry. After I cut the fish up into small chunks, I soak them in a soak of milk, one egg, and some yellow mustard. The breading is a 2:1 mixture of corn meal and flour with a healthy dose of Cajun seasoning.
This was my first time having amber jack, normally I eat flounder, red fish, or sea trout. I was really impressed with the AJ.
Enjoy.

Something a little diff, yet not.
The Mrs found these diff bagels, there like half as thick as your normal bagels, so rather then having to stretch the mouth open it’s just right! Of course that’s with bacon, eggs, and cheese! Mmm, hat was good, and yeah I snuck a chocolate chip muffin before finishing my pineapple juice

That’s what it’s suppose to look like but the Mrs didn’t weave the bacon, and she also cut most of the fat off the bacon, plus it’s not cooked yet..
JR

Ok, don’t look the best especially since the pic was crappy, but I must say omg the taste was WOW! Mrs liked it but the kid didn’t, all because it was “meatloaf” yet he loves hamburgers? And in this case loves bacon and likes honey mustard, so :dunno:

Tried something new today: rice with morcela (blood sausage). I just made a cup of plain rice. Then, put it in a pyrex dish, got some slices of morcela, put some butter over it and got it in the oven. 200º for some 20min, to cook the morcela and get the rice crispy. Sprinkled with oregano and got a nice red to go with it.

The Mrs and I making some English muffin pizzas for dinner,

The Mrs made me and the kid a little something for breakfast, something I haven’t had since I was 13! I slept over a friends house and his mother asked if we wanted breakfast and she made me something I never had, I always ate scrambled eggs, but she made us “eggs in a basket” I didn’t even know what it was till I asked her, I thought the idea was pretty cool but wasn’t sure on the egg since I had always eaten scrambled and yet now my eggs were bleeding, so I was like, ahh,, but I ate them and went with it, but now I like my eggs over medium with toast to soak everything up! So after watching a tv show yesterday and someone making the dish I was like “oh wow, I haven’t had them since I was 13!” And the Mrs said, “well, I’ll make you a plate tomorrow” and here it is! I asked her “when was the last time you made them?” She said “umm, never..” so I was like ok,, this should be interesting,, but as you can see they came out top notch, and I could have gone for another plate, even the kid like them and he’s not one for the yoke, so I think we have a new quick breakfast!

Sausage Pasta. Really quick to cook, all done in the time it takes the pasta to cook.
Boil water, at the same time heat a second pan. Add pasta, will cook in about 12 mins. Had a leftover Lincolnshire sausage, squeezed meat out into the second pan with a little olive oil. Added some garlic and mixed dried herbs. Cook until lightly browned. Added some leftover chopped tinned tomato, and leave to simmer. As soon as pasta cooked, added to sauce and serve.

Ok we need to get this subject rolling again!
Now who hasn’t had these before? This morning the kid comes to us and says we have to try something because he did something last night and he couldn’t believe it, he took both a powder and glazed and ate them both at the same time, we’re looking at home like :dunno: your a nut! Then he says “but you won’t believe it, it so taste like a jelly filled doughnut”! So the Mrs and I look at each other like where did you come up with this freaking idea? And needless to say we both tried it, and well, the kid was right, it just doesn’t have the strawberry flavor, but the glaze gives it the damp taste of a jelly and well, the rest is the same,, :dunno: still don’t know where he came up with the idea?
JR
-
Ok now look at these golden brown grilled cheese! Now yes they look a little dark but that’s because of the Mayo, yes I said Mayo, the Mrs uses Mayo vs butter and has been ever since, but the Mayo she used is a very unique one called “ Chipotle Gourmaise” thus a little darker with a little kick, she also added some pepperoni in to give it a little more flavor..
But I’ll never forget when I first met her and she said she would make me a grilled cheese but she said she uses Mayo, I was like eww, I wont eat that, she’s like just try it, you’ll never go back, and she was right, ever since it’s been her way!

Something a little diff, “chicken parm soup” yeah kinda interesting, you basically start off with tomato sauce and chicken stock along with a few other ingredients in the crockpot and dump a few pieces of chicken in, let them cook and about like 3-4hrs later take them out and shred them, all to put them back in, now all this time the pot is very full of liquid, but here comes the fun part, before your done you dump the pasta in the pot, along with some other ingredients, the pasta literally soaks up what’s in the pot taking in the flavor vs only water, and there you go, this would have been perfect if served in a bread bowl if I had one, but here’s a pic of the finished meal,
Trust me there’s a lot of mozzarella in there! I gave it a 8/10, the rest of the family wasn’t so thrilled, so I guess I get a lot of leftovers

Looks great. I like one-pot meals. Also in my middle-age I like some veggies with pasta. I always remember that when I was a kid I vowed to grow up and make my own pasta and not have to eat any vegetables with it. But here we are.
With this, I'd sneak in some zucchini. But if I wanted to stay true to form, I'd add some eggplant since that is supposedly the original thing that was Parmesaned, so to speak.... even before chicken or meatballs.

I just downed a nice bowl of that leftover for dinner and im STUFFED! My grandparents bought us a very old very ugly crockpot as a wedding gift, that thing sat in its box for one year! One day she said I am going to throw this piece of junk away! I was like oh heck no, she had never cooked in one, so I said look I’ll cook tomorrows dinner and if you don’t like it then you can throw it away, so tomorrow comes, I dumped 2 jars of tomato sauce in, along with meatballs and sausage, I used to own my own company with my father-in-law, so I told her “hands off, it’s mine”! So being on whatever job I just left and went home to make a quick stop, I stirred the pot, especially with her, cause she was like “OMG this is so not fair” I then said, hey I don’t want to hear it you want to throw it out,, so I ran back to work, then came home after I was all finished up,, I walked in and she was going nuts! I said give me 30min, get lost! Oh she was mad! So I made a half pound of pasta, put some sauce on it and put it in a bowl, grabbed a plate and loaded it with nice meatballs and sausage, then brought it in for her, she absolutely lost it, she was like “OMG, how come you never showed me this”? She just went nuts..

The taste palette is changing, the only type of mustard I ever really liked was honey mustard for dipping, I never liked it on food, and well, I tried a hotdog the other day with spicy brown and relish, and was like wow, so needless to say I had to try others,, I liked both the horseradish and the jalapeño it was a toss 50/50 between the two, but the spicy brown won! I think I got a new taste..

Ok, I was looking for like the best hotdog cooker, like one of those rollers that they have at the gas stations or movie theater, but we’re running out of counter space, but I found a cool small roller cooker and it held the buns in a little open tray above the cooker so it warmed the buns,
Yet we tried something and we were shocked, the special toaster I bought the Mrs for Xmas not only is it a toaster, but it folds down and turns into a little oven, works great for little stuff, anyway, we tossed the hotdogs in the toaster and I put the buns on the top of it, they cooked for 4min, then opened it up and flipped them over, same with the buns, then cooked them for another 4min, needless to say those bad boys looked as if they were just about done on the grill and they were just splitting! As for the buns those things were hot and ever so slightly toasted, just that outer crispness, perfect for a hotdog! It was then time to load them up and call it dinner! Oh those things were perfect! As for the condiments, I was never I mustard person yet I tried it with a mix of relish and fell for it, so I’ve been on a search for that perfect mustard, the first try was your normal spicy brown, then jalapeño, then a horseradish, which I all liked, yet the other day I looked this one up, I love bores head, their meats are out of this world, I also love their unique mayo, which is called Gourmaise it has an absolute kick because it has chipotle, so when I read up on their mustard I just had to get it, the unique thing about it is it’s got some punch to it because it has white wine and horseradish, so yeah the taste is right there, and with relish it’s like the perfect combo! So I think I found my go to, and all along we already had the perfect hotdog/bun cooker, so I’m set! Here’s some pics,,

Ok, I’m stuffed, the kid wanted to be nice and take us out for dinner since we’re busy all day and didn’t feel like making dinner and he also knew we wanted dinner with him so he figured he’d treat us to a little something, well, both him and I got breakfast and the Mrs got a club, yet what I got could have probably filled the both of us, this thing was a monster! I mean come on “The Country Breakfast Bowl”
Hash browns topped with three scrambled eggs, sausage, Cheddar cheese and country sausage gravy. Served with two biscuits. No I didn’t finish it!

Gyoza. Made a soy and sriracha dipping sauce.
-
Yum. I like chili garlic, sesame, and soy with mine.
-
A very unique nacho, put a layer of normal Doritos, then warm con queso cheese drizzled over top, and lastly dump taco flavored meat on top, do it for like three layers and I bet you there won’t be any leftovers!
Last night we had taco night and this for a side, needless to say the whole plate was GONE! So there was some leftover meat and some Doritos, even though the kid had some for a midnight snack, so I was like hmm, checked for cheese and was like perfect! So the Mrs made me a plate,, I’m stuffed!
JR

Oh, that looks delicious!
-
Oh, that looks delicious!
Oh it’s good! Your simple beef fried up with a taco seasoning packet, dumped on your normal Dorito chips, and then heated cheese dip drizzled all over, the unique thing is yeah your get cheese flavor from the dip, but then you get a very unique cheese flavor which is from the Doritos,, it’s good!

Homemade sauce. Fresh basil from my garden and whole wheat pasta.
-
Ok, I’m hungry!
JR

Just gets better in the fridge. I keep sauce and pasta separate. We had it again last night.

Well yeah, some like little sauce and others freaking drowned the pasta,
JR

Sooooo good.

That looks amazing

Ok, you want a very simple, very easy, and very filling dinner? I’ve made this a few times and it is soo good but looks soo ugly, but like I said so simple,
Directions,
Make one simple box of Mac n cheez, while it’s boiling take a stained container and dump a can of chili and microwave it, finish mixing the Mac and then dump it in the container of chili, then just mix it all up and done. Quick and simple, and since it’s so heavy you get filled very quick, nice thing about making it in the container is because you ain’t finishing it and there will be leftovers for tomorrow, so just put a lid on it..

 Millhouse and NutSAK. My kinda eating.
MadP, I can't take the heat anymore. There was a time, but my old stomach these days would burst if I tried anything you eat.
-
Lol, sorry..
Yet the kid bought some funky four meat pizza/calzone last night, I wasn’t too thrilled cause the bacon was chewy and I’m not a ham fan, unless it’s a spiral cut that we cooked for like 6hrs in the crockpot, oh those semi burnt piece, oh

Switched it up a little this morning, today was sausage, egg, and cheese, in toasted pitas, no spices..
JR

The kid and I were both in the mood for some homemade chili dip, something so simple yet soooo good! I guarantee you this whole container will be gone by the end of the night, right now there’s only about 1-1/4” left from the kid and I working at it for the past 15min..
JR

Yesterday the kid made some chicken bites, absolutely great for dipping! Anyway I wanted to try this new honey mustard that the kid said to get, I love honey mustard so I didn’t say no to getting it, and let me tell you, if you like honey mustard you gotta try this! It’s got like a deep mustard taste but then a very sweet tang to it, it’s like wow what a combo!

“My” carnivorous deep dish pizza, not only deep dish but with light sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage, hamburger, and lastly bacon! As you can see someone else was very interested in what I was eating!

I guess I was so stressed out about the Mrs that I ended up having a seizure, I could have sworn I ate both pieces yet when I walked the Mrs out into the living room from her having a nap we saw the second slice on the stove, the plate was crushed on one side, and she saw my shirt, ABSOLUTELY brand new and yet stained right where I would have clenched my arm and shaken it, so I guess I had one and rubbed my greasy hand from the pizza on my shirt, of course it had to be a new on, go fig,,

Tried something, I wanted something a little diff so I used regular hamburger helper but instead of using a pound of ground beef I dumped in a pound can of chili, I also topped it off with a little sprinkle of shredded Mexican cheese, simple, not bad, but VERY HEAVY!

This pic popped up on my Facebook memories, I can’t even remember the last time we had any of these, I believe this was the first time I ever cooked corn beef hash, I’d never had it before and one day we went to a mini dinner which was a old caboose, so I asked the lady about it and she said “the next time you guys come in just ask and I’ll make you a small sample” needless to say we went back about a week later for breakfast and she had a small test plate already served before I could even remind her! And well, I fell for it, and in this pic you can see I had a huge can cooking along with spam and something else most of you won’t know is but it’s called scrapple, something not really found outside of Pennsylvania, it’s pretty much the same as spam but pork, and since the wife grew up in Philly it’s something she loves, I’ll pass, but she loves to drench it with maple syrup!

I made some mincemeat pies today for Christmas.

Interesting, never had it..

We just got back from having lunch at a diner with our neighbor and a bunch of his friends and other neighbors. Had me a nice club sandwich with some of the best fries, even had a side of mayo for dip  haven’t had that for a while, the Mrs had a gyro, I think lamb, :dunno: , not my thing,
JR
-
It’s movie and snack day, already had cinnamon rolls for breakfast, then pepperoni, cheese, and crackers, and then we hit the popcorn, here’s a pic, but next is the mozzarella sticks, potato skins, Mac n cheez wedges, and onion rings, and then even more to come!

Had another one of my hoagies like the one I last post, OMG that was good, but being my bday today(big 45) the Mrs was going to make me a cake but I suggested rather then a cake make a brownie and frost it, needless to say I got my wish and WOW, we called the kid to come up and we just ate it out of the pan, the Mrs just had a few small bites but the kid and I devoured it! I must say that won’t be there by the end of the weekend! Let’s not forget that’s brownie! Lol..
JR

Oh well, the last of the Cajun turkey with roast beef, provolone, lettuce, and mayo.. oh so good!
JR

Well that season is coming, yet I still have to put the snow shovel back, anyway, I made my own relish, well the Mrs did, but she used two diff pickles, one sweet and one HOT, thus why a 2-1 ratio, but she chopped them up and then mixed with brown mustard, and I must say it came out good, a little sweet but with a little heat, I fig just right,,
JR

A “double decker fluffernutter” we,, what’s left of it..
