My mother asked me to cut her toenails today(shes getting up in years and can't do it herself) so I thought I would use the Squirt S4 I gave her. It worked really well the nails were easy to cut. When I was finished i noticed one of her toes were bleeding. It turns out I cut of the tip of one of her toes. I stopped the bleeding and evrything but I'll never use a squirt for that again.

Sounds like their as effective as surgical scissors. Honestly, when trimming fungal infected toenails, the scissors are like ultrasharp shears.

Sounds like an opportunity to get a Swiss Clipper! :D

Yep.

Huh? You used the scissors that you admit worked well and are now claiming they are dangerous because YOU cut your Mum's toe with them. Sounds like you just misused them and accidently did a cut. Could happen with any scissors.

Well its never happened when I used Fiskars scissors.

I have a Wenger Clipper, great SAK. Another alternative would be the Gerber Utility Clipper. I've never used one and always wondered how well they work.
Nothing personal, but you mentioning cutting your mother's toenails reminds me of that old commercial where and elderly lady has a boy toy who is bouncing on a trampoline outside and the elderly woman he works for is yelling "time to rub the bunions". :ahhh

But by that logic if you cut yourself with a knife you could claim that one to be dangerous because "it's never happened before" with other knives. I don't get what the angle is here.

Yea!
Uh Ben, knives ARE dangerous ;)

Only if your not careful with them, which is exactly my point.
-
Maybe they were secretly made in China ;)
-
Atwoods are dangerous too because they can cause you to go broke! :D

Now I can see the angle there. :D

My wife was the organizer of a huge horse event--over 300 horses competing. Lots of galloping and jumping at speed, with technical levels up to the Olympic level. I ran over 4 days. There was only one ambulance run the entire event--a groom had to go to the hospital because she was running with scissors, tripped and stabbed herself in the abdomen.
Btw, this is the type of jumping they were doing:

Yeah, but unless they were Squirt S4 scissors I feel you are missing my point.

No, I'm headed off on a tangent.
Totally different animal. :D

What I'm saying is while it maybe a multipurpose tool is not good as a nail clipper.

No that's probably a fair comment, but that doesn't mean they need to be referred as "dangerous" does it.

Maybe it can have some disclaimers:
1. Do not run with scissors exposed
2. If used on tough toenails, amputation may result
3. Not a playtoy, you could put an eye out.
:D
