Title: Help - Victorinox Wrist Watch
Post by: cali-SAK-attack on November 19, 2016, 02:41:37 AM
Hey ALL

Lil HELP ....................Please n' Thanks in advance! :salute:

Questions:
1- How do you remove the back on these? ( has NO notches for a reg 2 or 3 prong back removal tool) =  FLUTED/REEDED /COINED edge
2- Watched a Vid where a guy says all VICTORINOX must be sent back in to get battery changed (AKA NO DIY battery changes FACTORY ONLY?) is it true?

Pretty sure my model name is: CAVALRY

(pix ASAP >>>>>>>.)    :D

<edit> - added a online sales pic...... NOT MY WATCH - BUT SAME & SAME BACK that I am trying to remove/etc.......  :D

Big box stores I've tried for Vic battery replacement won't do it, but my local jeweler has changed them for me.

I am not sure if this will void your warrantee however. If the warrantee issue is a non-issue, you could call around to the jewelry shops to see if they could help you out. I've one right now I need to take in myself but gave them gotten that far yet.

The Cavalry is a Vic model. Great watch.

You can do it with a three pronged case wrench.  I haven't done it in many years, but it can be done.  If you have any of the triangular prongs for the wrench, use those and tighten them in until they are as snug into the grooves as you can and it should just rotate off.

If you are not comfortable trying it, a jeweller, especially one that handles Victorinox watches should be able to handle it for you.

my tool did not work.  :td: :bnghd:

Victorinox replied with what i feel is BS bad news......  :td: :crash: :bnghd:

they want me to pay $8 to ship it to a dealer...and add $8 so they can ship it back....PLUS $35 for a $3 battery.
BS in my personal opinion

I will just sell it on ebay....what a shame!

That's excessive! Just find a local jewellers that does watch servicing (not just battery changes) and ask them to do it. They'll be better equipped to ensure the waterproofing is retained.

No kidding. One of mine has that exact same back plate and I took it to the old guy's downtown jewelry shop and he changed the battery in about 5 minutes.

And I live in a town of 3500 in the middle of the cornfields. :D

Looks like it needs a Rolex type of caseback opener.
