So after thoroughly getting pissed by quality of CS's bushman and ignored by customer service, I found a slightly used aus 8 version of their recon tanto for $50 shipped. Not really a fan of tanto but it's cheap, stainless and full size, so I can save my 1095 kabar (not that I really use it to begin with, heh).
Should I bother with it? Or wait till something else comes up? I don't really like aus 8 since it's just mediocre, but it works okay. On the other hand CS royally screwed up the SK5/1080 and the damn thing rolled edge cutting plastic water bottle, who knows what they have done with aus 8?

to me (a silly goof) CS is like the Nickel slots at Vegas,
your not going to lose a lot of cash and they can be fun,
but it's like killing time for the real thing
and even if you hit the jackpot,
it's not going to be great. :pok: :P

Despite what Dan said (heretic that he is ::) :D) I'd go for it, they are decent knives, and unfortunatly you were just unlucky :-\

It's ok, I fed it the blood of my enemies earlier today, so it shouldn't demand anymore for a while now :D

I love Cold Steels knives. I think you have just been really unlucky with your experiences so far.
-
yeah, you and a zillion other people! :P
but seriously many people have some really nice stuff from CS and got em for a good price.
I knock them for various reasons but they have come out with some reasonable, good use products.

After searching around for performance number for aus 8 I think I'll skip this one, the aus 8 just doesn't measure up (http://cutleryscience.com/reviews/edge_testing_II.html).
Instead, I'll see if I can get my hands on a D2 griptilian!
