So after much tinkering, I settled on an Atlas (111 mm) for by Bug Out Baggie-thing. Ironic, since it was actually my first SAK ever. Still, it does the job. I find I could improve its emergency qualities a lot by replacing the vanilla scales with Stayglow yellow. Unfortunately, Central Valley Wholesale (of which I read on this forums) do not ship to Israel.
TLDR: help?

Bundlebox is a forwarding agency based on the US that lets you order (almost) anything online from a US store, and they will then forward to you via courier. I’ve used them for many years to ship to South Africa as I’ve also had some companies not willing to ship to me, or not even internationally. Bundlebox solves this problem. :tu:

I love the Atlas! Shame they didn't make a Liner Lock version.

Apparently, I’m not the only one looking... These seem to be exceedingly rare. I’ll ask around at the local knife show tomorrow and then try a ground assault on Vic’s representative in Israel (who’s not answering my emails for some reason).
It’s starting to look like I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and order a whole knife to pry the scales from...

If you don't mind losing the locking feature you could put some easily obtainable orange ones on there. They're something like 6 euros a pair.

Does the Atlas have a grey slide lock on one side? The newer 111mm Saks have liner locks, so there is no slot for that grey tab on them. Physically they are identical in shape to the older 111mms, just with that hole missing (also, no groove for toothpick & tweezers.) They fit perfectly - all the alignment points match etc.
I put some new orange scales on an old Outrider - I just took the grey lock and spring off and left them off. This results in a non-locking but still useable Outrider, which opens and closes with a nice snap.

Good upgrade option for the slide-lock 111mm SAKs TP, thanks. :tu: I was never a fan of the slide-lock, so this opens up some interesting options with the discontinued models.

Huh. As a matter of fact, it does have a side-lock. Wouldn’t cutting a hole in the new scales solve the problem, though? Or does merely removing the original scales destroy the locking mechanism?

There's nothing stopping you from cutting the hole yourself - but I imagine some fairly serious tools and skills would be required for it to not look really ugly. I don't know if you'd be cutting through one layer of orange plastic or a sandwich of orange plastic and black rubbery stuff. Me, I'd prefer to avoid cutting that plastic and either go for a scale with the right hole in it or abandon the lock altogether with a prettier but hole-less scale.
Taking the original scales off doesn't destroy the mechanism, it just falls out. The plastic slider and the spring that gives it tension are held in the place by the scale. Taking the scale off is easy peasy - putting it back on with the slider and spring correctly located is a bit finicky, and 99% of us will have lost the spring by this stage....
