Title: Victorinox Swiss Army North American Road Tour
Post by: stressmaster5000 on June 03, 2009, 08:06:17 PM
Anyone here following the road tour? I have noticed it totally avoids the south like the plague! I guess they do not want to meet any rednecks!  :P  Seriously there is a Twitter page, and a Flickr photo page that is following the events as they move along.
Here is the link to the road tour main page;

Since they are using the Airstream Victorinox travel trailer to showcase all their items, I noticed the knife display is rather meager.  :-\ :(

Ohh, they are coming here. Is there anyone from Vic (that we've seen from SHOT show) going to be there?

It'd get tipped by a rampant mob of anti-knife protestors carrying flaming torches and pitchforks (with rounded blunt tips, obviously) :D

They're probably afraid of rabid brainiacs going after that caravan. :D

Care to elaborate on "I guess they do not want to meet any rednecks!"   :oops:

I am originally from Alabama...my wife is from Georgia.  We are FAR from being "trailer trash" from "Jerry Springer Double-Wide Estates".   :twak:

Nothing like the South....food is better, women are more fairer, we have manners, and there is NO gun control (or "knife control") like say in the People's Republik of Kalifornia (and a possible state-wide bankruptcy).  "We say grace, we say ma'am, and if you ain't into that, we don't give a damn....."- Hank Williams Jr., A Country Boy Can Survive   :cheers:

BTW, the biggest selection I have seen personally of SAK's for sale is Smokey Mountain Knife Works...in Seiverville, TN.  In the South.   :drool:

It's just a general mindset.  Caravans slow down other drivers and it's deemed "sad" to want to tow your living quarters on holiday with you and do your business on a chemical bucket.

Can't say I am like that though.

Once you are off the motorway most of our countryside roads (home of the caravan) are single carriageway so the caravans take up the road.  They are more restricted in their speed limit so they are going slower than all the other traffic.  AND THEY NEVER GET OUT THE WAY!  :twak:  Even when there are 10-15 cars queueing up they will trundle past pull-in and parking bays and blighty ignore the frustrated motorists behind them.

There in lies the issue.  In fairness, some do and to them  :tu: :salute:  The rest of 'em are a pain in the rear end  >:(

You know from what's displayed there it's probably not focused on knives but more of showcase their other stuff, so not sure there will be anyone from vic there to chat about knives with. I think I may end up skip it.
