Title: Not a Tool but an old book of tools
Post by: Noa Isumi on August 16, 2018, 08:21:54 AM
I thought I would share a few snaps of an old book in my collection. As some of you may know I have a thing for old books with a couple dating back to the late 1800s. This particular one is the first antique book I bought as a teenager in the mid 90s.
The book is " Pittsburgh Gage&Supply Company supplies catalog number 10"
It is undated and I have never been able to put a date to it beyond 1900ish. The range others have placed is 1890-1914 and I leen towards the later by some of the products.
There are only a few other coppies I have found; 1 in a collection in Chicago, 2 online sales, and 5 in the Smithsonian Library. I am shure there are others out there, but I havent seen record of them them show up online.

The items covered are anything industrial for the pierod from Dynamite to trashcans, massive machinery to watchmakers files; thousands of fastners, pipe and metal stock, etc. If it was a tool or part of the time its in here.

Now I am only going to post a few random pics just because I felt like showing it off tonight
