Title: Victorinox Outrider owners club
Post by: Luna Knife on September 23, 2013, 02:40:33 AM
Im not technically an owner yet but one is being mailed to me this week.

I was wondering who else owns an outrider and what you like and dislike about it.  Pics too if you have some.

I wonder if they came in any color other than red.

I want to join this club really bad! And yes there is a camo version with philips instead of a corkscrew.

I love the Outrider!  It always goes with me hiking.

with the in line phillips already in place, why replace the corkscrew.

I would rather have a corkscrew to hide the mini driver and I like wine

I do however like the camo scale idea

It's the Malaysian army or police (not sure anymore) version so they probably thought adding a corkscrew to an army sak wasn't such a good idea. ;) You can see pics of it HERE (http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,47028.msg770722.html#msg770722).

BTW, this thread is in serious need of pisc so here's one of my Outrider. :D

It's the only 111mm SAK I own and I don't think I'll be buying any others. Not that it's a bad SAK. It's cause it's a perfect assortment of tools in a still pocketable size and I think I got the best one on my first try. :D (If there was a Tradesman with scissors instead of the pliers, I might reconsider ;) )

I wish it had a backside philips but I'm sure the can opener and thin philips can handle almost anything.

Based on a visit to Vic's site, it appears that the Outrider is no more.

I got an outrider finally! I like it but it is a little big to carry on a regularly basis.

Nice oldie, Melvin.

I bought new clothes for my Outrider, it's wearing a nice black tuxedo now. ;) I'll have to take some pics of it.

There is a OHO Uber Gak/Outrider that is a Scribeer mod that is on the For Sale forum.  It is pretty cool, but I am tapped out atm.  Well worth picking up IMO.

I believe it's still in production just not on the US site because they took it off the North America product line.

I can still get them up in my neck of the woods (Canada). We have a few retailers that have them in stock.

I have one that is my primary pocket carry when roaming the woods. It has a great selection of tools for what I encounter most while out and about and does a reasonable job at being an EDC SAK, it's just a little on the large side.

I'm in love with any SAK or MT that has a real, long shank, 3D phillips that folds out 180 degrees like God intended.  I don't know why that is.  Maybe I was locked in the closet when I was a kid, and needed a phillips driver to escape.  Who knows.  So naturally, I'm digging the Outrider.

One of my favorite SAK's. I usually take it with me when I go out in the woods or camping.

It's a Workchamp W/O the pliers, file and short shank phillips.

There are some available here in the states for about $45.00.
