Not to often I get excited about measuring tapes/rulers but it has to be said the Zippo 6 feet rule is excellent and highly recommended if you like me EDC a measure tape/ruler.
Made by Zippo and manufactured in Bradford, Pennsylvania USA with the same quality as their lighters, this one I had to get from the USA they're as rare as flat dogs in the UK ;)
It came in it's own hard plastic case, nice if you want to keep it on a desk :tu:
The rule itself is brass coated matt black I have no idea what coating is used but I'd guess powder coating
it has a nice solid feel to it and interestingly it weighs 4 grams heavier than my Zippo lighter :tu:

Size comparison with my brass Zippo and a cheap mini tape,
(http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u122/titan1833/005-39.jpg)
the tape is a nice size width 10mm and easy to read, comparing with my cheap tape.

And size comparison in the hand, that's it not much you can say about a measure tape but like I said if you EDC a measuring tape get this it wins hands down in the tale of the tapes ;) :D

I thought the Zippo 6 foot rule was that you had to buy any Zippo that was within arms reach! :D

Hi guys from what I found out you can only get them nowadays off Ebay that's where I got mine BTW I paid $18 just enter Zippo rule in the search, good luck :tu:
[edit]here's one for instance if you have the money I can see a good return on these depending on the final bid,or a group buy maybe ;) :salute:

Yeah Neil that's in my watch box but I'm not bidding I just like to see what they go for ;)

Looks cool. :tu:

I often carry a little 1m Stanley but they are a bit plasticky and to be honest not overly reliable. It'd be nice to have something a bit more substantial but still small.

Take my word Neil it's rock solid :tu:
Dimensions Approx ;)
Weight 59 grams [edit] BTW my brass zippo lighter weighs 55 grams
H42mm x W38.5 x D13mm
:salute:

I did actually consider making a replacement brass enclosure for the little Stanley tapes but this looks to be a much simpler route.
-
I like it that much I'm on the hunt for a nice soft leather sleeping bag for it :D
-
Very nice. :tu:
This is why I've been after one for a while - same as Zippo lighter quality so you can't go wrong.
Now all you lot will be bidding on the ones I keep looking at ::)

The 20pc set I was watching went for 64 pounds that's around 3 pounds each "bargain" and room to double that and more in the UK,I hate being out of work :ahhh

That sucks - we should have done a group buy!

I considered it but factor in postage, VAT, incoming fee and it actually works out at about a fiver a piece. Now that'd be great to get one for yourself but to sell on  not so good by the time you factor in postage out and PP fees.

John your Zippo tape is the nicest one i have seen. I have only seen them with logos on them. I found this tape awhile back at a swap meet it looks like a Zippo but it is made by Barlow. It has PG&Es logo on it. PG&E is our local gas and electric co.
