Hey all,
I recently bid on, and won, a strange Yeoman mod off of eBay. This is the work of a Portuguese modder "caepxy" who sometimes drops his creations on the 'bay.
What makes this one unique (to me) is the inclusion of the back layer 58mm blade and file in place of the traditional corkscrew. Should prove interesting to use! I was thinking about opening boxes, etc. with the small blade - but haven't had a chance to to actually use it yet.
Scales are G10, and despite their appearance, are smooth and not textured. They feel pretty heavy duty, though. Time will tell.
Anyway, :worthless: soooo:

Pretty darn smart idea...

That is one cool mod :o  :like:

Very cool! I look forward to hearing about how the little blade as a backside implement works.
Love the scales!

What a nice catch!
I'm wondering how much you got it for, but of course feel free not to share that, that's perfectly okay too.

That's.... different

 nice

Hmm - Interesting - But I cant't see the small blade on the back working too well - File would be OK

The 58mm file on back looks like a neat idea. Easy enough to use as a nail care tool. The small blade :dunno:. There are a few other tools I'd prefer.

I've used the back layer knife a few times now. It actually is pretty nifty for detailed, scribe type work. If you grasp the blade between your fingertips, you get a lot more control than with the large blade, since the entire knife becomes a handle. Good for poking holes in stuff, though not as good as an awl. I do find this works even better if you push the blade past 90 degrees, back towards the handle.
You all have made me think, though. What 58mm tool would be thin enough to fit alongside of the file? Scissors, caplifter are out. Maybe something from a Minichamp?

Yep - All of them apart from the scissors and Combi tool - They are all the same width

+1!

Maybe just as a 90º box opener? Looks kinda dangerous to work with.

And speaking of the scissors and combo tool, it could be interesting to have one of them in place of the nail file/blade.

But the modern sharp awl can do that while being much sturdier and having way more features, so that's somewhat redundant.

That would be awkward... Try simulating using one of those and you'll see.
