Title: [WITHDRAWN] For Trade: Skeletool CX W/Bit Set FOR A Tan Coloured OHT
Post by: Marc_in_NS on June 18, 2016, 05:31:19 AM: Evening Folks: Five Year old but never used, in "Brand New" condition Leatherman Skeletool CX with additional bit set, bit extension and leatherman "Leather" pouch (never carried on a belt).
This Rig was a safe queen and is still like the day it came out of the clam shell.

I am looking to trade with a similar "status" Leatherman OHT preferably in TAN with a sheath or pouch.
Any interest please let me know.

Post by: Grant Lamontagne on June 18, 2016, 08:45:51 PM: That looks like a first year Skeletool CX as well. They are getting harder to find and are desirable to collectors. For the first year the CX was combo edge and the standard Skeletool was plain edge. The folks at Leatherman originally thought that with the hover grade steel in the CX people wouldn't want to sharpen it as often, and therefore the 154cm blade needed serations to be functional longer.

What they decided a little while later was that anyone willing to spend the extra $$ on the CX for the fancy steel knew how to look after it properly, while people buying the standard version were people that just wanted to work the tool and weren't paying attention to maintenance.

After the first year they switched it so that the CX had a plain edge blade and the standard had the serrations.

As a matter of fact, it was 2008 at Robinson's Outdoors shop in Victoria, BC. When the Sales Clerk opened the glass case and pulled out my Skeletool CX and introduced it as a "brand new" model produced by Leatherman.

I was preparing for our "West Coast Trail" hike... ended up NOT taking the Skeletool after all. So its eight years old... oh my... :oops:

Well it's been one week and no interest... perhaps "my" want is too narrow. Maybe Leatherman TAN coloured OHTs are not that numerous? Who knows?

I am going to sweeten the pot, so to speak, I will consider any offer from someone interested in getting a nice Skeletool...
Lets See what you wanna trade for it.

I am a member of this community... so, needless to say, any EDC gadget will likely be of interest... :)

Could we please "withdraw" this item form the list of "FOR TRADE".

A very nice young man (i think) made me realise (realise in ENGLISH) that we should never be too careful when entering in such transactions... Heck I gave it some thought and guess what? He is right...I am not mailing this priceless unique tool around the world to any strangers... :)

Please, it is simply becoming more work than it is worth.

Sorry about your interest for the Triple Aught Design Fast Pack Litespeed version 2 multicam (new, unused) of the items for trade list.

But I'm not sure if it's comparable the difference in value to the skeletool and with all the accessories. If you have other items you're interested in the list. Or if you have other items to trade or add for a equivalent trade.

Yes I know you told me.. you did some research with respect to the Skeletool and all of the accessories, value is $206.00 currently (canadian). Your bag also. Are you happy with an even swap?
