Sorry to bump old thread. But since nobody replied I thought i would at least address this. Yes i have these and they are good. Lightweight, windproof and waterproof. You can recharge them via USB. Its like you dont have to buy a lighter again. You may also want to check out these reviews on them. LINK REMOVED

I had some cash to blow on Amazon so I bought one of these plasma lighters. Decided to go with a different style though. I bought the Saberlight Sparq. It's been working well and sports a lifetime warranty.

I bought two of these; one for myself and one for my brother. Very neat product and charges easily. I've used this for a campfire and as long as you have enough substance to light, it works well. You can light a cigarette very easily, but cigars are quite difficult to light with it. To light a cigar you need to basically put the side of the cigar in the area and then keep turning it.

It is a bit heavy in the pocket if you are used to plastic disposables. Others have mentioned several issues, but I think it works fine. The electrodes are not far apart, but you just put the corner of a cigarette between them, perhaps rotate it a bit if you like, and there's no problem. To create a longer arc would require huge amounts of energy. The case opens correctly if you put the button on the other side.. use your trigger finger to activate it. There is only the faintest sound from the arc. I don't think another person would hear it.
