Title: Any other sheath makers here try Holstex?
Post by: Syph007 on February 11, 2012, 03:21:08 PM
I just came across Holstex when I was restocking on kydex at knifekits.com.  I have a thing for see through sheaths and cases and I had to order a couple sheets of this to try.  Looks cool to me, I'm sure I can make up something cool with it. I was just wondering if any one else had any experience with it?

I think I have some- I got it not as something to play with but as an already formed sheath.  If what I have is indeed the same stuff, it is interesting, but I'll stick with kydex.

I wanted a see though sak sleeve to carry colored alox models to prevent scratching but be able to see the knife still.

I ordered the same thickness of kydex I work with, 0.080 inch, so hopefully its rigid enough.   I'll see in about 3 weeks! Almost all my orders lately take exactly 3 weeks from the US.  My G10 order from usaknifemaker is taking even longer for some reason though.
