Edged Tools / Re: What Traditional Knife are you toting today?
« Last post by chip on Today at 04:22:24 PM »
This arrived today and in my pocket.
I am a little under impressed with the handles, but really impressed by the 1095 blade.
I love the sheepsfoot, swedge and long pull.
And the grind is perfect, sharp, even and burr free.
The blade is a little larger than I am normally comfortable carrying being a hair’s breadth over 3” in its entirety including the tang.

On the whole a great usable knife for the £50 I paid for it.

Brock - Glad to see you applied for the badge.  Looks good.

Hey Jeff!

I was a little bit unsure about "which badge" a few days ago... I noticed you got the "tween" one recently, which made sense since it was literally the only one in the list that seemed to be appropriate. 👍

This👇is the one to apply for if anyone else is curious.

The light function is not the primary feature here?
In this case, I'd tend to agree. It sure looks like a baton that "just so happens" to have a flashlight at one end. My "tactical flashlight" is about 2.5 inches longer than my hand if the beam isn't being focused. (Because it's not at all pocket-friendly and has two or three irritating modes that must be cycled through, it sees very little use.)

Looking forward to it.  Gives me a chance to learn German.

I'm glad to see that you made it here!

Welcome to the forum Andrii.

For anyone wondering about these, I have a few of them and I have got to say, I have not seen a startup manufacture tools with this level of quality before.  In fact, very few of the Big Guys can manufacture items this well.

I'll post some pictures and thoughts soon.

I don't know what flashlight those kids had, so I'm not commenting on that as such.  I just want to say that some torch designs certainly don't seem to focus on the light function. If it is made like a club, works like a club, and hurts like a club, then I'd call it a club even if there is a light at the end. Things can be both a club and a light. (I've even seen some with taser functions built in).

An example picture included - I think it is fair to say the light function is not the primary feature here?
