Title: No plier guides on ST300?
Post by: Wallace72 on March 05, 2017, 08:26:08 PM
Not sure if this has been asked but just got an ST300 of the EOD variant and it does not have the plier guide tab things that are riveted on the rebar. Why does the rebar have these if the st300 can function without them?

And if the st300 was the first leatherman to use the plier head with replaceable cutters and the cast section that engages said tabs on perhaps a surge...did leatherman anticipate that the same head was going to be put on another tool since the tabs served no purpose on the st300 they were first put on

I would take a guess that on the ST300 your hands hold the other tools in place, but I've never come across a situation where the tools could open on my surges. Colour me confused with this
