Title: Cold Steel Special Forces Shovel

I dont think it would be a bad thing, plus it is a proven design. It has been a copy of the Soviet shovel they have been issuing for years.

Post by: Grant Lamontagne on January 11, 2009, 07:54:37 AM: I had one, and it's great. As a weapon, I'd consider it a last ditch thing, but as an emergency or camp shovel it's great. There's a special technique to using a small shovel like that- first, stab it into the ground to loosen up the dirt, then once it's broken up, scoop it out. You have to do it that way since there's very little leverage on such a short handle. I wouldn't want to do any extensive gardening with it, or attempt to shovel my driveway, but for an emergency thing to keep in your trunk or with camping/hiking gear, I doubt you'll find one better.

I need to get a sheath for mine, I'll probably get a custom kydex with an attached small
